Nine Inch Nails leave label

Nine Inch Nails have left their record label.

In an unsurprising turn of events, the band are now “free agents” and Reznor commented on having seen the music business “radically mutate from one thing to something inherently very different”.

He said he was looking forward to having a direct relationship with the audience, which comes only a week after Radiohead allowed fans to decide how much they want to pay for the album themselves. Reznor will post further announcements regarding the band soon.

Green Day working on new album

Green Day have recently spoken about their follow up to American Idiot.

Billie Joe stated that things were currently in a state of “total chaos” with no themes decided, but went on to say he’s been writing on a piano rather than a guitar. He continued by saying:

“We’ve been doing this for almost twenty years now. You want to make sure you’re being honest with yourself. I also have to ask myself, ‘What’s real out there?'” Right now it seems stagnant…So we’re only in our second year of bearing down and finding out what we want to do. I just want to put my head down and keep grinding at it.”
