MGMT have said they are working on the follow up to Oracular Spectacular.

The duo revealed they’re looking to release a double album as well as working with The Chemical Brothers on new material. Ben Goldwasser told the NME that:

“We’ll experiment with them to create a different sound. They’ve collaborated with people like Noel Gallagher before and they have this psychedelic side to them, so we’ll find common ground.”

However, they have said that the album is several months away and they may well change their mind about it being a double album in due time.

The Strokes’ drummer Fabrizio Moretti has spoken about his new side project.

Little Joy will release their album in November and feature Moretti, Binki Shapiro and Rodrigo Amarante and were named after a bar near where they lived in Los Angeles. The album tracklisting is:

Pink Floyd‘s keyboardist Rick Wright has died aged 65.

The musician who formed the band died on September 15th after losing his battle with cancer. As well as being the keyboardist, he also helped write a number of songs in the earlier years.He also worked on a number of solo albums and albums with Syd Barrett.

Security at Heaven nightclub felt the wrath of upset fans earlier this week.

What started off as harmless fun ended in staff ruthlessly shoving fans off the 6ft stage, but The Black Lips came out of the slap-stick battle triumphant in a gig that can only be described as punk rock! Check it out below:

You know when you have one of those mornings and you reminisce at what you miss from the good old days? Well here’s one of those. A while back my Grandfather was fighting cancer until one day the doctors said they could do no more and he had approx’ 6 weeks to live. They unplugged his Hickman line and he left the hospital for home a different man. As he left the big white walls, he rolled up to the car singing ‘take these chains from my heart and set me free‘ and then gave my Mum the biggest hug you could receive. He died exactly 6 weeks later and we miss him loads. This one’s for him…

Gallows headlined the Lock Up stage at the Reading and Leeds Festivals and destroyed them with phenomenal performances.
