Editors name new album

Returning indie giants Editors have named their third album ‘In This Light And On This Evening‘.

The band took a short hiatus last summer after front man Tom Smith’s wife Edith Bowman gave birth to a baby boy. Using his time off to rest with his family, Smith entered a fresh creative phase. Claiming to have written anything up to eighteen songs for the new album, the band are said to be working on a raw and energetic new direction.

Produced by Mark ‘Flood’ Ellis, album sessions are said to have been hugely productive with the resulting album due for release later this year.

The band have also confirmed the following show:

DMC UK DJ Final news

The UK finals for the World DMCs will take place on July 9th.

The UK leg of the 25th year of the DMCs will be held at the O2 Academy Islington from 7pm and will feature PAs from Jehst, DJ Switch v DJ Shiftee, Inja and Billy Biznizz. Whoever wins the DJ final and the Battle For Supremacy will advance to the World Championships on September 11th and 12th and the Indig02.

White Belt Yellow Tag single and tour news

White Belt Yellow Tag have announced the release of new single, ‘Tell Your Friends‘ on Monday July 13th.

The single, which will be available on 7″ & download and features the B-side ‘146 Ways‘, is taken from their debut album ‘Methods‘ which is due for release later this year.

Drumming with the band on their UK tour, which kicks off later this week with a much coveted slot supporting The Gaslight Anthem, is Tom Bellamy (ex member of The Cooper Temple Clause and one half of The Losers). The full list of dates are as follows:

Muse have announced a UK tour.

The band will hit the road in November and their new album The Resistance is likely to be out before the tour. The band have promised to bring an “exciting stage set and production”. The dates are:

New De La on the way

De La Soul‘s Posdnuos recently took time to speak about the group’s upcoming album, You’re Welcome.

Posdnous has confirmed the band are in the middle of working on their new album, You’re Welcome.

The rapper said they have several tracks, which include vocals from Chuck D and Flavor Flav. He also said the band want to bring Damon Albarn in to feature, after they worked with him on the Gorillaz album Demon Days.They will also contribute vocals to two songs on the next Gorillaz album.

New Finch demo

Finch continue their comeback with new material that they’ve demoed being available to listen to over at their myspace.

Last year’s quite-fantastic EP is not where they’re going to leave it apparently. If this demo is anything to go by, the new material (for an album maybe?!) is going to be loud and aggressive with just that hint of pure pop melody that we all know and love them for.
