British Black Metal overlords Akercocke are to play an exclusive one-off show at Bournemouth Opera House on 06/06/06 if British music sources are to be believed.

No official information is available at this time, but it is harshly speculated that support will come courtesy of Norwegian behemoths Dimmu Borgir. Crossfire will bring you more on this with regards to ticket availability and line-up as soon as possible.

Akercocke are currently taking a break from touring after spending the back end of 2005 on the road to support most recent Earache release ‘Words That Go Unspoken, Deeds That Go Undone’. The bands’ own David Gray and Matt Wilcock will be performing with Australian grindcore outfit The Berzerker for a full UK tour starting later this month. Marty Leopard, the crazy frontman of Gay For Johnny Depp has managed to sustain a shattered foot during the group’s first hometown show of 2006. The singer broke his heel after he lept from a table at Brooklyn’s Galapagos venue.

This isn’t the first time the band have had an injury occur on tour. Sid Jagger, the guitarist-cum-spokesperson
was forced into hospital in 2005’s Exeter show after an encounter with a fan.

However, this setback won’t stop the group from finishing the writing of their full length album, which is due for release sometime this year.

Worldwide phenomenon and Crossfire favourites Gorillaz have announced they are going to be branching out even more in 2007, when they are teaming with with Shaolin monks, acrobats, martial aritsts and even the Peking Opera for the Manchester International Festival.

The interpretation will be of the story of the Monkey King, a Chinese literary classic, and will have its set designed by Jamie Hewlett with frontman Damon Albarn bringing the music to the production. It will be shown first on the 28th of June next year and is sure to be a visual spectacular.

The already huge producer Danger Mouse, who became a bona fide fixture in people’s favourites list last year thanks to his beats on the Gorillaz album and on DangerDoom, has a new project coming out in 2006 and it is already making waves throughout the hip hop world.

The project, which features Goodie Mob’s Cee-Lo, who provided the chorus to the brilliant Benzi Box on the DangerDoom album. The first single, Crazy, is due for release in April, with the album, St. Elsewhere is scheduled for a May release.

The group play the Coachella festival at the end of April and promise to deliver another slice of vintage Danger Mouse for 2006.

The European tour the band were on throughout March has been cancelled due to an overdose suffered by Dave Wyndorf of the band. Whilst his full recovery is expected, obviously it means the band will not be able to make their way to these shores for the dates scheduled.

The group have said that they are confident he’ll be back from this overdose and that they will continue to bring their brand of rock and roll to their fans.

We are looking for a hard-working, relentlessly energetic band to support Hull’s most famous indie punk starlets and play this exclusive invite only party alongside XFM DJ’s Eddie Temple-Morris and Iain Baker and Crossfire DJ’s Zac Slack and James Sherry.

That’s right after years of promising ‘it’s on its way’, KENISIA have finally finished their new album. Over 3 years in the making, it was recorded at Toybox Studios in Bristol last summer and is the band’s first album with James Lambeth on lead vocals. James’ amazing soul infused voice has brought a whole new dimension to the bands new songs so prepare yourself for a whole new sound of KENISIA in 2006. Mötley Crüe finally reformed in 2005, and took their outrageously successful “Red White and Crue” tour around the globe. Now the tour is available for the very first time on DVD.

Infamous for their visually wild and intense live stage shows “Carnival of Sins” captures original line-up—Nikki Sixx, Vince Neil, Mick Mars and Tommy Lee in a stage show that sets a new standard for music DVDs. It comes as a 2 disc package, Disc 1 features the live concert, and Disc 2 includes all the bonus features which give an all access view of the concert experience.
