Dave Grohl Lives!

Randomly, rumours of Dave Grohl’s death started floating around the internet last month, but the Foo Fighters singer has come out and revealed he’s very much alive.

In relation to the stories that he was found dead in his apartment, Grohl said:

“That was weird, but I guess I’ve finally graduated to that status of being an internet rumour. It weirded me out a bit, but it’s stupid. I’m like a cockroach, don’t worry, I’ll be around for a long time.”

Ice Cube New Album News

Former NWA crew member and multi-Platinum selling rapper Ice Cube is back with a new album, his seventh studio release, entitled Laugh Now, Cry Later.

It’s his first album for a while, and this release is one of the most highly anticipated records of 2006. The album, which is due out today [June 6th] on his own Lench Mob Records, will have production from the likes of Lil Jon and Swizz Beatz and a guest spot from Snoop Dogg.

The buzz single and video will be Chrome & Paint, with the official released single being Why We Thugs, which is a social commentary about guns, politics and American ghettos. Ice Cube has spent a lot of time away from acting to pen this album and it’s looking like it’ll be a banger.

Wu Tang TV!

Wu Tang’s ultra-producer The RZA is to write the score for a new animated martial arts series which is due to be shown on US TV in the autumn.

The show, called Afro Samurai, is an animated show that features the voice of Samuel L. Jackson and will be based on a graphic novel by Takashi Okazaki, which centres around a black samurai that wants revenge on his father’s killers.

It’s not the first time RZA has penned film scores, as did the music for Kill Bill, Blade: Trinity and Ghost Dog: The Way Of The Samurai.
