Jawbreaker documentary in the works

Adam Pfahler of Jawbreaker has posted a comment about the documentary being made on the band.

He said that interviews are being lined up and shooting is continuing despite certain distributers not willing to pick up the finishing cost finishing by saying “the boys are still shooting and hoping to finish by December. We’ll see…”.

Jawbreaker have also submitted a demo of “I Love You So Much…(from Dear You)” for the For Callum compilation, a song which has never been available and has been described as “the ace up our sleeve”.

Marilyn Manson speaks out

Marilyn Manson has spoken out regarding his new album and a forthcoming tour.

Speaking online, Manson said that he would debut live versions of his new songs at this summer’s European festivals. Of the album Eat Me, Drink Me, he said it represents exactly who he is and what he felt at the time of writing the tracks.

Song titles include If I Was Your Vampire [a six minute epic], Just A Car Crash Away, The Red Carpet Grave and the first single Putting Holes In Happiness, a song which he describes as “A romantic-misogynistic-cannibal-gothic-vampire-ballad”.

There is no set date for release but it is thought that the album will drop sometime in June.

Tegan and Sara bring in guests

Canadian duo Tegan and Sara have brought in some guests for their next album.

The Con is due out in July and was co-produced by Death Cab For Cutie’s Christopher Walla at his own Alberta Court studio. The Death Cab connection continues in the form of Jason McGerr playing drums on the album with bass duties being handled by Hunter Burgan of AFI and The Rentals’ Matt Sharp. The tracklisting is:

Rancid man pens new song

A video for a song that Tim Armstrong wrote has been put up on YouTube and features both Skye Sweetnam and the Aggrolites.

Into Action was written for Sweetnam’s new album Sound Soldier and was apparently re-recorded for the version which is playing in the video. It is thought that the song might also appear on the Rancid frontman’s digital solo album, A Poet’s Life.

Mest singer not charged with murder

Mest’s singer will not be facing murder charges.

Anthony Lovato has been freed after prosecutors turned down the option of filing charges against him according to reports.

A spokesperson for the district attorney’s office said there wasn’t enough evidence to prove that the killing “was not a justified use of force in self-defence.”

Supergrass are back!

Britpop kings Supergrass are ready to head back into the studio to record new songs.

The band have said they are aiming for an energetic sound on their new record, the follow up to Road To Rouen which was out in 2005. Gaz Coombes recently said the band were heading to Berlin to do the recording and expected it to be a two or three week session, to get it done as quickly as possible.

“That’s where the enthusiasm is; in what you’ve got coming, in what the future holds. That’s what it’s like for this next record; there’s just some really kind of vibrant, sort of exciting bits of music happening. Just can’t wait to get it down.”

Municipal Waste tour dates

Municipal Waste are heading into the studio with Zeuss to work on their new album, which is due for release on June 11th.

Frontman Tony Foresta said that the drum tracks have been done and the guitar tracks are currently being laid down and bassist Landphil said that the new material is the best thing they’ve ever done.

The group will be hitting the UK in April and May at the following dates:

Thursday leave label

Thursday have left Island Records, the band have announced.

The band have released two albums on Island, War All The Time and last year’s A City By The Light Divided, which followed on from their breakthrough release Full Collapse on Victory.

The statement from the band said that it took six months for both sides to reach an agreement but both parties are happy with the result and the band are leaving on good terms. The band will go on to play some live shows before writing a new record, which they’ve had offers for already.
