SSS tear it up!

New signings to Earache and Crossfire favourites SSS tore it up whilst playing a gig on the Daffodil Ferry on the Mersey for a show for Channel 4.

After the band’s performance, its believed that the ship’s hull was cracked and the ship went down one mile from the shore. Foxy, SSS’ frontman said:

“The fact that we never soundchecked and we were sandwiched between two indie bands was great. No-one realy knew what to expect. Especially Channel 4 who I thought were going to go flying as they were in the pit with expensive cameras filming!”

The show is due to air a week on Friday [6th] and promises some thrashingly good noise. Make sure you check them out on tour as they support the June release of Short Sharp Shock:

March:

30th – The Snooty Fox, Wakefield
30th – The Pilgrim, Liverpool

April:

14th – The Engine Room, Brighton
15th – The Old Blue Last, London

June:

4th – Music Box, Manchester
14th – The Barfly, Liverpool

Bad Brains album hits HQ

The new Bad Brains album just dropped into here at HQ via courier in the US and on first listen fans will be relieved to know that it has more in common with ‘Rock for Light‘ than any other BB record.

The anticipation as it hit the stereo was pretty immense but now it’s debut has graced our ears, we are stoked as it is a great blend of straight up raging hardcore as only Bad Brains know how to do accompanied by a wonderful helping of dub tunes.

Before you flood us with requests for copies, hold that thought. Our sister company Division will be handling all UK press for the band and there’s no way it will leave the safe!

RSE co-founder Brent “Siddiq” Sayers said of the deal:

“If we have someone who wants to be on a major label, we can, in fact, do that. But if we have someone, like Atmosphere, who does not want to do that, we can keep doing what we’re doing and bring in some select [promotional/marketing] services”.

Brother Ali will be hitting Notting Hill’s YoYo club on April 5th. Be there!
