Spoon announce world tour

Spoon will be playing a world tour in the coming months.

The band will travel across Australia, Europe and the States to support their new album Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga which is out now. The UK leg of the tour is sandwiched inbetween shows in Belgium and Portugal where they’ll play Cargo on August 16th.

Super Furry Animals new single

Gruff Rhys’ Welsh rockers Super Furry Animals are back with a new single from upcoming album ‘Hey Venus!’.

‘Show Your Hand’ is classic SFA. A dose of soul, a pinch of furry
experimentalism and a huge dollop of sublime pop mixed into one summer
classic, and will be out on Rough Trade on August 13th.

As well as the album, the Furry ones will be touring all over the place. Catch them at one, more, or all of these dates:

KRS-One’s son dead

KRS-One‘s son has been found dead in his apartment in Atlanta.

The medical examiners said that Randy Hubbard Parker died of a gunshot to the head and have officially classed the death as a suicide.

His mother, Simone G. Parker said he had been fighting a battle against depression and a memorial service will be held on July 18th, which would have been his 24th birthday.

Gnarls Barkley to return

Gnarls Barkley have confirmed they are working on the follow up to St Elsewhere.

The duo, who scored a massive hit with Crazy, have announced the album will be ready for the holiday season and is anywhere from “two weeks to two months” from being completed.

The group posted a message up online saying an exclusive track will be available through Facebook at some point in the future.

Thursday discuss new label

Thursday have recently discussed their future with labels following their DVD/CD release on Victory Records.

The band explained that this release was strictly a one off deal and the band have yet to choose a label to follow up on. They have revealed, however, that they’ve spoken with Ferret, Atlantic, Fueled By Ramen, Koch [for Death Row Records] and even Victory again, with Geoff Rickley saying he was “really interested” in Saddle Creek and Epitaph also.

The band announced that Chuck and Neil will be working on their Git Some band, and Gared will be concentrating on the first Hawks And Doves record.

Fat Wreck Chords will be releasing a limited set of square shaped vinyl.

Me First And The Gimmie Gimmies will be the band featured on the “Square Dance Series”, a set of 5 limited edition 7″ records, which will be released over the coming months. There will be 1,000 of each and will feature a track from their Love Their Country album, plus an unreleased B-side.

The first in the series will see two Dolly Parton covers, the album track Jolene and the unreleased I Will Always Love You. Banging.
