Green Day working on new album

Green Day have recently spoken about their follow up to American Idiot.

Billie Joe stated that things were currently in a state of “total chaos” with no themes decided, but went on to say he’s been writing on a piano rather than a guitar. He continued by saying:

“We’ve been doing this for almost twenty years now. You want to make sure you’re being honest with yourself. I also have to ask myself, ‘What’s real out there?'” Right now it seems stagnant…So we’re only in our second year of bearing down and finding out what we want to do. I just want to put my head down and keep grinding at it.”

Slash loves the Pistols

Former Guns N Roses guitarist Slash is the latest name to be backing the campaign to get the Sex Pistols to number one.

God Save The Queen was denied the top spot in 1977 as authorities feared it would spoil the Queen’s Silver Jubilee, but now it is being reissued on October 8th with a number of high profile names lending their support to get it to number one.

Slash said:

“The last time the Pistols reformed it was great. We were all pretty excited about it. As long as they’re doing it for the right reasons – they want to do it – then it’s fucking great. They were a huge influence on me when I was younger, and still are.”
