United Nations are streaming their entire album online.
The supergroup which comprises Daryl Palumbo, Thursday’s Geoff Rickly and Ben Koller of Converge describe themselves as a powerviolence/grindcore band and will release their self-titled album on September 9th.
Death Magnetic has finally leaked online.
Reports are that the album was being sold in France, before the worldwide release date of September 12th, but despite the leak drummer Lars Ulrich said he was happy enough:
“Listen, we’re ten days from release…I mean, from here, we’re golden. If this thing leaks all over the world today or tomorrow, happy days. Happy days. Trust me. Ten days out and it hasn’t quote-unquote fallen off the truck yet? Everybody’s happy. It’s 2008 and it’s part of how it is these days, so it’s fine. We’re happy.”
Rage Against The Machine sparked a protest march in Minnesota.
The band aimed to play at the Ripple Effect all-dayer, a rally held to coincide with the Republican Party Convention. However, the performance wasn’t allowed to go ahead, so the band performed through a megaphone before the crowd chanted “fuck you, I won’t do what you tell me”. Whilst it has been claimed the band didn’t arrive on time, event organisers questioned the police who apparently held the band back and wouldn’t let them enter until it was too late.

Muse have been in the studio, with several tracks already written for a new album. The band started work on the follow up to 2006’s ‘Black Holes and Revelations‘ earlier this year.
Drummer, Dominic Howard explains, “We’re working on new stuff and we’re gonna have a couple of weeks off and then in about two weeks time we’re back out to Italy to start writing again. We’ve already done a few tracks and it sounds great, so we’re just working towards the future.”
Ever since The Pixies reunited for a world tour and download-only single, ‘Bam Thwok‘, in 2004, the possibility of a new full length caused quite a stir.
Black Francis, frontman of the legendary group explains that he has not ruled out the possibility for a full length, which would be their first since ‘Tromp Le Monde‘ in 1991.
“It’s just a waiting game right now,” explains Francis. “Whatever we do in the future is gonna have to be fresh…I have to see if the band as a whole wants to go into the recording studio for a new record. That makes sense on some level. For us, there’s gotta be an angle. It can’t be just playing our old songs over and over.”
A blogger was arrested on the 27th August under the suspicion of leaking tracks from Guns ‘N’ Roses forthcoming album, Chinese Democracy.
Kevin Cogill, 27, was taken into custody by FBI agents on suspicion of violating federal copyright laws. He has admitted to posting nine unreleased songs on his website in June.
A preliminary hearing will take place on 17th September; prosecutors have claimed that the leak may have caused ‘significant’ financial losses for the band.
The Nightwatchman, a pseudonym of Rage Against The Machine‘s guitarist, Tom Morello, will be releasing his debut solo album, The Fabled City, on the 29th September.
Despite toning down his sound to an acoustic based project, Tom Morello : The Nightwatchman’s myspace stands solid that “You don’t have to be loud, son, to be heavy as shit“. The album, produced by Brendan O’Brien, will also feature Serj Tankian and Shooter Jenkins as guests.
