Dizzee and Sugarhill to collab

Dizzee Rascal and the Sugarhill Gang are set to record a song together.

Master Gee recently told BBC 6music that the crew had met Dizzee in New York and now plan on going into the studio with him. The Sugarhill Gang saw him perform and said he put on a “kick ass show” and that they’re working on new material for an album slated for an early 2009 release. Gee also said:

“We’ve been in the studio with a lot of young and up-and-coming producers. We’re writing and we’re playing some stuff ourselves. It’s hot, definitely.”

Biffy discuss new album

Biffy Clyro have started writing for their new album.

The band, who released Puzzle last year, say that the new tracks are influenced by The White Sripes and, bizarrely, horses. Simon Neil said:

“When just the two of them play together it always sounds like a ‘White Stripes’ record. That’s how I feel about Biffy. If we can do it ourselves we can make any kind of music. There’ll be a lot of songs about horses. The album is going to sound like 12 fuck-off horny stallion studs!”

7 Years in the Making

It’s been a strange day. I woke up this morning and realised that our Crossfire events and this very online magazine are 7 years old this week.

I guess it’s safe to say that another 7 is imminent, as we will be re-launching with a new online mag shortly that will be celebrated with another party that should wipe out your following day’s arrangements.

We will continue to beaver away for the love of skateboarding and music so thanks so much for your support over the years, without it, it would not have happened.
