Those who grew up skating in the mid 90’s are about to witness a Christmas present of the highest order as the Playing Fields skate flick has been taken from the archives and stitched back together for a DVD release. With the likes of Alex Moul, Danny Wainwright, Frank Stephens, Ben Rodriguez, Mark Channer, Colin Kennedy, Mat Fowler and so many more in the mix, this little gem was the catalyst for pushing everything to the next level. It’s fantastic to see that there are people out there putting time and effort in to bring it back.

Whether you witnessed it first hand back in the day or if you are viewing this learning about UK skateboarding history right now, get this in your sights and await a much anticipated December release remastered by Lewis Ross and Frank Stephens.

It’s been a long wait but it’s finally here. The HUF Stoops tour dedicated a long period of time to visit many European countries this summer and gave all in every territory. This team that is run by skateboarders, for skateboarders.

In December 2004 I visited Durban in South Africa and skated the park on the sea front there with my Brother. We met a kid called Thalente who was very young, homeless and absolutely shredding the place. After the session we gave him all the money we had on us to skate the Tony Hawk designed park out of town and also the brand new Flip complete that my Brother was skating. It was the only way of leaving the park and helping him as we didn’t live there and he was clearly in need.

This new video appeared online yesterday and he’s now in LA with Kenny Anderson seeing the world. So stoked he has moved forwards and others have helped him in their own ways. Always help another skateboarder and be thankful that you chose skateboarding. You can do your bit here.
