Dark Night of the Soul, the collaboration between Danger Mouse, Sparklehorse’s Mark Linkous [R.I.P.] and David Lynch will finally get a release date this year.

Although initially plans were in place for a 2009 release, the project ran into complications as Danger Mouse entered a legal wrangle with EMI.

With these issues apparently resolved, however, Danger Mouse has predicted a June release for the record. Dark Night of the Soul features a star studded line-up of guest vocalists, including Iggy Pop, Julian Casablancas and Gruff Rhys.

Meanwhile, Danger Mouse releases his collaboration with The Shins’ James Mercer this week, under the name Broken Bells.

Surfer Blood have scheduled a headline tour in May, adding to festival dates at Camden Crawl, The Great Escape and All Tomorrow’s Parties.

The hotly tipped band released their debut album, Astro Coast, to critical acclaim in January.

James Murphy has announced that the third LCD Soundsystem album will be released on May 17th.

The follow up to 2007’s Sound of Silver was recorded in Murphy’s LA studio, and is set to feature songs including Dance Yrself Clean, Drunk Girls and Pow Pow. Meanwhile Murphy will release his first film soundtrack for Greenberg (starring Ben Stiller), on March 22nd.
