Rune rules at Bondi

Danishman Rune Glifberg won $3,000 at the Bowl-A-Rama World Cup Skate comp at Bondi Beach this weekend.

Crossfire spies down under mention that Rune’s head high Mctwist in 25 wall runs pretty much summed him up as the winner! He also smashed back smiths through a tight square corner and outshone pretty much everyone but Benji.

Bowl thrasher Omar Hassan came in second with Crossfire Clothing fiend Benji Galloway in at 3rd, both with impressive assaults.

Nav also went on to say that ‘Daniel Cardone is fucking mad’, managing to bend time and space winning Best Trick with a gnarly frontside flip through the corner, no grab and chest high! Another other Flip rider Lance Mountain grabbed $700 at the masters final, beating Lester Kasai and Pat Ngoho, it looks like Flip really have their team rocking right now.

Look out for a photo feature coming here soon from Nav – the boy wonder, down under.

Manics offer free download

Manic Street Preachers will be releasing a free track for fans on March 19th.

The Welsh band will be putting up Underdogs as a free download on their new site [see below] marking the first music to be taken from their upcoming album Send Away The Tigers.

The album will be released on May 7th through Columbia. Nicky Wire said of the album:

“All out punk metal – Alice Cooper – Stooges guitar outro. Could have been on Generation Terrorist. A celebration of the unique, a post ‘Everything Must Go’ address to the fans 10 years after the first time we did it. In a Britain dominated by generic, one diametrical multi branding, let us embrace the difference – the downtrodden – the losers and the opposition. Let us fall in love with individuality again”

The View in trouble again

The View have sunk to a new low with reports that frontman Kyle Falconer is facing a drugs charge.

Reports say that the singer is set to appear at Dundee Sheriff Court this Friday after he was apparently caught with cocaine in the band’s home last year. This comes soon after the band had to cancel their trip to North America because of visa problems, as Falconer hadn’t declared his arrest.

This cancellation has meant 8 shows have been wiped out, including the band’s South By South West slot. Good going guys.
