Klub Kerrang – 17th March!

The second Klub Kerrang! at Koko went off with another bang and will return for more mayhem on Saturday 17th March.

With Ghost Of A Thousand kicking off the jams and The Blackout crushing all before them, February’s event was another frenzied party.

This month will see live music come from Kids In Glass Houses and Malpractise, which promises to be just a action-packed as the two previous nights. Click here to see the chaos that occurred in Night Raids.

As if the live music isn’t enough, the sonic barrage will continue as Kerrang! resident DJ Emma Johnston smashes down in the main room with DJ Zac Slack bringing his usual concoction of indie, hardcore, thrash, punk, death metal and all the classics to the Crossfire room with help from Talita Two-Shoes (Earache), found at the top of the venue. Prepare for a wild ride!

Don’t forget the special deal that’s available for Klub Kerrang!: If you come to the venue with a flyer before 11pm, you can get into the club for just £4.

You can print off the flyer from www.koko.uk.com, www.kerrang.com or here on Crossfire.

Del Mar revisited

The beautiful thing about the internet thesedays is the fact that even old guys can use it too. Harrison James sent in this clip of Christian Hosoi and Tony Hawk battling it out at the legendary Del Mar skate park back in 1985 when big hair and riser pads were almost the same size. Amazing to see that 22 years later that these 2 are still riding urethane…but the question is – will you?

New York Street Skate Movie

Buddy Nichols and Rick Charnoski are back with a brand new documentary covering the history of street skating in New York City.

The duo, who have directed amazing movies such as Northwest and Fruit of the Vine are ready to unleash a definitive history of the City covering an incisive and artful exploration of skateboarding and its culture.

Jocko Weyland who wrote the book “The Answer is Never” says “On one level it’s about street skating, but also an anthropological overview of skating’s epochal shift from the parks and pools of the 70’s, to ramp skating in the 80’s, to the street ascendancy of the 1990’s as seen from a New York-centric perspective.”

This film will have interviews with many skaters, street architects and more so expect this to be one of the most talked about films of 2007 released soon. Watch the trailer here.
