SSS tear it up!

New signings to Earache and Crossfire favourites SSS tore it up whilst playing a gig on the Daffodil Ferry on the Mersey for a show for Channel 4.

After the band’s performance, its believed that the ship’s hull was cracked and the ship went down one mile from the shore. Foxy, SSS’ frontman said:

“The fact that we never soundchecked and we were sandwiched between two indie bands was great. No-one realy knew what to expect. Especially Channel 4 who I thought were going to go flying as they were in the pit with expensive cameras filming!”

The show is due to air a week on Friday [6th] and promises some thrashingly good noise. Make sure you check them out on tour as they support the June release of Short Sharp Shock:

March:

30th – The Snooty Fox, Wakefield
30th – The Pilgrim, Liverpool

April:

14th – The Engine Room, Brighton
15th – The Old Blue Last, London

June:

4th – Music Box, Manchester
14th – The Barfly, Liverpool

Canucks in driving seat…

Want to be jealous and blown away at the same time? Just look at the recent Plaza built by Newline Skateparks in Winnipeg, Canada and then realise just how crap your local UK skatepark is?

In all honesty the quality level for building skateparks in the UK has definitely risen over the last few years if you use Aberdeen for an indoor park example and the Stoke Plaza for outdoor but it seems as though the same old story arises every time which is the fact that the budgets assigned for UK parks are still minute compared to other countries who build parks to last the long term.

Check this park out and wish you were here…

Bad Brains album hits HQ

The new Bad Brains album just dropped into here at HQ via courier in the US and on first listen fans will be relieved to know that it has more in common with ‘Rock for Light‘ than any other BB record.

The anticipation as it hit the stereo was pretty immense but now it’s debut has graced our ears, we are stoked as it is a great blend of straight up raging hardcore as only Bad Brains know how to do accompanied by a wonderful helping of dub tunes.

Before you flood us with requests for copies, hold that thought. Our sister company Division will be handling all UK press for the band and there’s no way it will leave the safe!

To remind yourself of how they used to rip it up, click here.

DuFFs are getting busy…

Eddie Belvedere has joined the DuFFS UK family alongside Carl Wilson, Ben Raemers, Adam Howe, Rees the Piece, Rob Smith, John Cattle and Mattias Nylen.

This isn’t the only subject that is getting DuFFs team manager Mark Munson hard in the morning because the new Dreamland constructed Saffron Waldron skatepark has started in Essex so him and his sidekick Ben Raemers will have yet another park on their doorstep.

Raemers has sustained a fractured ankle but is back on his feet after news that Volcom in Europe have just hooked him with a deal plus he should have a full part in the forthcoming Consolidated video. Beat that grommets.
