Meanwhile Gardens to be flattened?

I was wallking to HQ this morning when my woofer stopped for a piss on a tree and this letter was pinned to it.

It looks like the rumours of this land being developed by cash making corperate types is true. Another skate park is to be taken out of the borough so that the fat cats can get their 6 figure sums into their pockets and it cannot go ahead. This green space needs to stay for 2 reasons: Firstly the community need green areas to be able to relax in and secondly, kids need to have somewhere free to skate to keep them off the streets. The crime levels in this area of London are already super high, this will only fuel more.

Write protest emails by contacting councillor Pat Mason on cllr.Mason@rbkc.gov.uk but make sure you are concise, detailed and polite only please.

Gallows Boat Party

You know that Crossfire loves a boat, so when we were asked to organise Gallows launch party for the band, we just had to go back to The Yacht Club for this one, and what a night it turned into.

With DJ Zac Slack and James Sherry slamming party tunes in the Crossfire room and a bottle of Jack Daniels slurping away under the decks this one was going to be a slammer! DJ Feebz and Mike Davies had the metal and punk rocking in the mian room whilst Danny Watson provided classics in the underbelly of the ship.

As soon as the band hit the stage, carnage ensued and the boat was awash with bodies being pushed and shoved by the sheer explosive action of Gallows album. They had no more than an inch of space to play in making this show the most in your face hardcore display ever! Witness the fitness, now go home and fall asleep in a kebab you cunts.

Gallows blow up boat on Thames!

The Gallows launch party for their Abandon Ship single literally rocked the Thames last night! The party, organised by Crossfire was electric with Mike Davies and DJ Feebz smashing rock and punk in the main room, Danny Watson and his crew supplying the classics downstairs and party vibes from Zac Slack’s Crossfire Sound System.

Free beer and Jack Daniels fuelled a riotous show with the band exploding in front of a select 150 people. It was utter carnage as they romped through tracks from their new album ‘Orchestra Of Wolves’ released on June 18th. The crowd took over the stage grabbing mics and singing the words to every song. It was the gig of the year so far without a doubt!

Look out for the band on tour in June, dates are here.

The Crimea – Live

Undercut
Central Station, Wrexham
31.05.07

You have to admire the energy and passion of Bristol boys Undercut. Playing their blend of enigmatic rock to a half full room in Wrexham, they could have been playing a packed out Wembley for all the vigour and unwavering enthusiasm on display.

Looking like a band completely comfortable with each other, they continue to put on a blistering performance that would make even the most experienced of live performers envious. Utterly enthralling to watch, frontman Johnny Benn weaves his way through stomping tracks which swing between 90’s inspired indie and all out rock n roll.

Undercut play every note like they mean it and their flashes of brilliance tonight only hint further towards their overwhelming potential. It surely is only a matter of time before they evolve into a band that everyone is talking about.

It’s The Crimea though that most of the slightly older crowd have come to see tonight. Forming from the ashes of The Crocketts, their music lies somewhere in indie mixed with punk and folk, taking cues from artists like The Pogues. The heat has got up to epic proportions on stage and the band, led by Davey MacManus look to be wilting but with pleasantries out of the way they kick off their show and instantly their music seems to work much better live than it does on record.

There is no jumping around here, no leaping or shrieking, in fact your man MacManus barely moves an inch all night, but what they lack in charisma they make up for in emotion. Refreshingly unpretentious, the feelings and passion in their songs is authentic and although they won’t whip you into a frenzy, it’s an assured, well rounded performance in this intimate environment by ones of the UK’s most underrated bands.

Got Wood?

If you think you have, and are possibly worthy of being crowned King Of Wood, then get a mosey on down to France for the King Of Wood competition in Rouen. Carhartt have helped organise the event in which Europe’s cream of the skateboarding crop will comp out for a beastly 12,000 Euros cash prize. ZING!

The ball will start rolling on the 6th July, where all are welcome to compete in a 60 man fight to the death (not really, they’ll be a runs and a jam format, as well as best trick comps in the superb Rouen Skatepark however!). The top 5 will make it through to the King Of Wood to compete alongside Europe’s finest Ams and Pros.

The price of entering King Of Wood stands at 30 Euros, unless you make it through King Of Am (which is free, but limited to just 60 people, so register quickly!).
