EA SKATE launches with tour

EA SKATE is released this week countrywide and should keep your fingers busy this winter.

To celebrate the launch of SKATE, EA has recreated seven iconic skate spots from San Francisco and Barcelona and placed them in skate parks across the UK.

Each object has a trick challenge set against it and laid down by a UK pro, in both the game and real life. If you can nail the trick or one up it, you and a mate could be on your way to skate that city for real. Entering is easy, just get a mate to film you doing the trick we’ve set (or something better) on any one of the blocks. Then upload that clip to the website below.

The clips will be judged by Andy Horsley from Sidewalk Magazine and Niall Neeson from Kingpin Magazine. Loads more prizes including PS3’s & copies of the SKATE game are available too, so whatever your level of skating, you’re in with a shout. For further details on how to enter, go to: www.skate.electronicarts.co.uk

Block Tour Details

Lead by our UK pros, Vaughan Baker, Neil Smith, Boots, Horsey, Danny Brady and Chewy Cannon will tour the country visiting all 7 skateparks over the course of the last week of September and October. At each location we intend to have a block jam / challenge, where the pros amp up a local comp to win £200 in cash and a copy of the game.

Click here to watch videos of tricks on all blocks from UK pro riders.

Death Urethane call in The Sweeney

Sounds like a 70’s TV cop show and in fact, it probably is. Zorlac and Co have decided this week to employ the services of Aaron Sweeney for Death Urethane.

Aaron is one of the latest London skaters to start getting noticed for his asleep at the wheel, board ripping which has led to a hook up with the Casual Skateboards team this year also.

Look out for him on your travels, he will be the fastest one in your park with the skulls on his wheels and new Vans on his feet as Powley just added him to the UK flow team. Booyakasha…
