Nick Zorlac on Radman

Radman is on a mission! Originating from Waltham Cross, he heavily localizes Harlow Skatepark, but has a burning desire to travel and skate anything and everything. Don’t be surprised when he shows up in your town and shows your spots some mind melting stunts. Learning seriously difficult tricks pretty much every time he skates, trying to stick them no matter what and taking some hard to watch slams in the process, then getting the trick on lock like they are nothing! When I flow Death decks to Mark via Motel 6 Skateshop, I know they’re gonna get a right pounding, this I like.

Working really hard in the opticians all week drives him want to skate even harder every single evening and at the weekend (well actually a black Honda Civic that some people are scared to get in drives him to skate). No one is gonna stop this young guns’ crusade to get Radman! Lock up your daughters, Radman is here and I predict will become a force to reckon with.

Animal Collective film trailer

Animal Collective’s forthcoming ‘visual album’ premiered at the Sundance festival last night, but for those who missed it a trailer has appeared online.

The band, who received heaps of critical claim for last year’s Merriweather Post Pavilion and Fall Be Kind, have been working on the project for over 2 years with director Danny Perez. Speaking with nme.com band member Avey Tare reveals a little more;

“It’s kinda like a psychedelic film, it’s not like a narrative film or anything,” adding, “there are more cohesive moments in it, but then there are some that are a little more abstract.”

Sunny Day Real Estate UK show

Recently reformed Seattle emo veterans Sunny Day Real Estate have announced their first ever London date. The show will take place at Kentish Town’s Forum on 22nd April and is likely to form part of a larger European tour.

Having already played re-union shows across America last year, the band appear to be enjoying working together again after splitting up twice in the past. Bassist Nate Mendel (also of Foo Fighters) has revealed that this tour is also likely to be accompanied by new material.

Tickets for the London show go on sale this Friday at 10am.

AWK on BSM

Big Scary Monsters have just announced the release of ‘I’m A Vagabond‘, the new single from Andrew W.K.. In characteristically awesome style, it will be released on square-shaped 7″ vinyl which is limited to 500 copies worldwide.

The release date is February 15th but expect these to sell out bloody quick! The single is backed by two b-sides and the first 100 copies that are pre-ordered on the BSM site come with a hand-written note from Andrew, including a link to download MP3s of the three tracks. As well as the 7″, there is a super limited edition t-shirt available and you can buy the two together for just £12 on BSM’s webstore.

London:WESC store expands, opens Slam skateshop concession

Former Etnies UK Team Manager Pete Turvey has taken up with the might WESC brand out of Sweden and in the first of several power moves has moved their flagship store to bigger premises in Carnaby Street and opened a ‘shop within a shop’ in cahoots with Slam City Skates.
To celebrate, they are giving away free product this Thursday the 28th. See you there!
