Sheffield noise mongers Rolo Tomassi will play a one-off date at Camden’s Underworld on April 23rd. This will be the bands largest headline show to date, as they continue to prepare their Diplo produced follow-up to 2008’s Hysterics.

Fresh Blood: Sam Taylor
Sam (aka SPT) came to this quagmire of decay, slime and death known as London from the lesser shit hole of Leicester. He lives in glamorous Camberwell to be precise, where he obsessively maintains his fine collection of blogs (nerd) whilst living the gully life all day, everyday on the Camberwell streets, alleyways and rooftops. On top of these duties to his postcode he still manages to get in loads of skating and filming, just like any thug would.
He may tie his laces a little tight for my liking but he makes up for that with a natural mass of energy akin to a hyperactive youth, a huge selection of tricks and more combo’s guaranteed than any other skater on his side of the street.
Sam is a very consistent skater which makes him a footage machine and fortunately for him, has an iron gut that is guaranteed to soak up his daily hangover pains thus enabling him to be up for shredding and filming pretty much any day of the week. Give him a few years though, he’ll be buckled in bed for a whole day after a night of drinking cheap cider and vodka like anyone would over the age of 27. Watch out mate.

DC flow rider Aldrin Garcia and Luis Tolentino both dropped 43 inch ollies at the DC Grind for life high ollie comp. The challenge drew level at this year’s ASR trade show last Wednesday with both skaters sharing cash on the day and came close to beating the world record, here’s the video.

The Last Skeptik
While London’s The Last Skeptik is well known among hip hop heads across the UK, with his latest compilation ‘Same Day Different Shit’ he has announced his mainstream intentions. This is not to deride the albums content, but rather to celebrate the young producer’s potential to create chart destined hits in the near future.
Take his remix of Marina & The Diamonds’ Mowgli Road, already receiving airtime from the likes Huw Stephens and Rob Da Bank, and for good reason. The tracks original vocal takes on a new setting, thriving amongst a clever mixture of dirty electronics and hip hop beats.
Elsewhere Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly guests on a remix of Eslam Jawaad’s Star Spangled Banner, and is also remixed earlier on the disk. This unpredictable choice of source material works in Skeptik’s favour, as he hops from genre to genre, re-working tracks both popular and unknown. So don’t be surprised to find UK chart regulars The Streets and Daniel Merriweather, rubbing shoulders with the likes of Loudmouth Melvin and hip hop superstar The Game.

Noisia release single details
Dutch D&B masters Noisia have announced they will release new single Machine Gun on March 8th.
The track, which is definitely an ear-drum blower-outer, is taken from their upcoming debut album Split The Atom which is due for release on April 5th. The single comes with remixes from Spor, 16 Bit and Amon Tobin. Watch out for these guys in 2010, they’re gonna be rampaging!
