Real Huf Board 7.68"
I have had a fair few DLX boards over the years and the one thing that they all had in common was solid construction and great shapes. They’re renowned for it and this one is no different. Pro board for Keith Hufnagel, the man with more pop than a fat Nan’s pantry, this board is perfectly suited to street skating and hopping up and down obstacles rapidly, potentially with his trademark quick footed style, although in my case it was severely lacking. I should point out that this was probably nothing to do with the board…
The board itself felt considerably lighter than what I am used to riding which is hardly surprising as it’s a good ¾ of an inch thinner, which I thought would leave me floundering about or putting my clumsy kipperfoot straight through the middle of it but it’s surprisingly robust for a thinner plank, with more pop than I knew what to do with.
In short, if you haven’t already tried Deluxe’s products then you could do a lot worse than starting off with this one. The shape is spot on with a fairly big nose and a tapered tail. It has a fairly mellow concave and the board, as a whole seemed a lot wider than it really is. I would say it’s more suited to street skating due to its width but whatever floats your boat.
The only thing that I would complain about is the fact that as soon as a pink board comes drifting into the office, the staff immediately thought of me but unfortunately there is not a whole lot I can do about that other than thinly veiled internet threats…(I’ll get you bastards!...)
To sum up: Good shape, nice graphic, if it was ½ an inch wider I’d be all over it like a sweaty rash but it's still definitely worth a ride.
