In the first edit of this series explained how Magenta was created with Soy Panday, Vivien Feil and more. In part 2, the Magenta crew explain the beauty of night skating, filming with a VX on the move and much more from Bordeaux to Japan. It’s another great documentary on why we skate, where we skate and how skateboarding allows you to create and enjoy your freedom.
Last August we were asked by members of the Norwood Skatepark Association to throw in our views on how Bloblands should be updated. It was simple. Keep the existing volcano and blobs but update them, add a couple of obstacles to create flow, and generally update the surface so you can pump around it and have more fun.
There are far too many of the same style of parks and bowls in London, and we believe that quirky, fun parks are virtually non-existant. Plus the history and the unique nature of of this spot needed to be kept intact.
With this in mind, both Freestyle and Wheelscape have submitted their first designs to the Association who are now awaiting your feedback so that they can pick a company to build the new park on May 8th.
Have a look through these images and note that they are drafts and not final designs and don’t forget to read the detail on the images as they are there for a reason.

Mindblowing control at insane speed. That’s it, nothing else to say. Dennis Busenitz is up there with THE very best. Dan Wolfe’s The Cinematographer Project for TWS does exactly what you are looking for today and has cameos from the rest of the REAL team.
Grab yourself some new stuff here.
Legendary cinematographer Greg Hunt discusses skating for Stereo and picking up inspiration from Jason Lee’s Super 8 work before switching to 16mm before using it in Mindfield, The DC video and many more. His current work on the Vans video is his next project. Learn more about that and his work within skateboarding in this ongoing amazing series from Leica, ‘Let Us Roam‘.
If you want more of this, watch Ray Barbee‘s and Arto Saari‘s too.
If you’ve never seen Grant Taylor‘s backyard before then get a taste of where those lengthy ollies and stylish smiths are practised right here. The session (minus a dog injury, thankfully) headed to Mountain Park with Raney Beres, Raven Tershy and more.
‘That’ cheeky frontside rock, don’t miss it.
