With their tube amps cranked high and cooking to boil over, Purling Hiss’ live set is heralded as a whirlwind of chaos and disarray. Expect a tidal wave of riffs, fuzz and syrup-sweet hooks. We can hardly wait for the London show at Corsica Studios on March 25th.

You have no doubt seen Afghanistan’s incredible skate scene bringing hope and fun to children in an area where conflict is rife, and maybe even the new skatepark built in Bangalore, India or la Paz in Bolivia that has grabbed some headlines within our scene recently. The fact is, that skateparks and skateboarding is spreading faster round the world than ever before, thanks to the hard work and determination of various people who are not afraid to get their mitts into concrete and bring skateparks to countries for the first time.
Last month, a new park in Amman, Jordan in the Middle East opened thanks to an IndieGogo fundraiser that managed to accrue over $21,000 towards the build that took just 18 days to complete by volunteers. It was built on a site that used to be a Circassian refugee camp back in 1948 and is now being sessioned by locals in their droves.
Well done to all involved, especially Mohammed Zakaria who stuck to his guns and managed to see the fruits of his labour trying to get this off the ground. Watch the video below to see how it all came together. Great story.
