Koston still on Es…

As if it really matters to know who rides for what, where and when… All that really matters is that they’re skating, right? So, to put a few weird rumours about sponsorship, money and Koston aside, here’s some hot shit going down for next Es video. Yes!http://www.officialnewyork.com/clips/html/esny.html
Start speculating.

Desperately seeking Susan…

In the age of nano-technology, high unemployment and cheap gadgets, it comes as no surprise to see so many kids working on their own skate videos… So, once you’ve agthered all of tht footage and sat on it for a couple of years, re-editted the lot, filmed a bit more, sat on it a bit more and re-editted it again, and so on… you can finally think about releasing your precious brainchild to the ungrateful masses. No wonder deadlines get pushed back. However, you need a name for this masterpiece because without one people might not know what to ask for (if they ask for it at all!).

Kyle Leeper joins Etnies

Etnies proudly welcomes its newest rider and Black Label pro, Kyle Leeper, to the etnies Skate team. Kyle has kept himself plenty busy skating and traveling with the team for the last couple months on tours, demos, shooting photos, filming etc.

One glimpse at Kyle’s part in TransWorld’s Subtleties video or his recent cover of TransWorld SKATEboarding’s Photo Annual and you’ll know that Kyle’s ability to skate obstacles in a completely unique way is what truly sets him apart from the crowd. He’ll skate the same ledge, gap, pole jam, wallride or tranny as everybody else, but he’ll skate it in the way everyone else hasn’t. Regardless of the terrain, he kills it.

Check www.etnies.com for all info on the current team.

Sheltered Premiere

Sheltered, the 4th local skate video from Hastings and Bexhill features a group of friends who’ve tried to escape the sheltered towns they live in by traveling to many locations around the world from London to Tokyo and has just premiered in Hastings. The South East scene hasn’t featured much in the skateboard press but it exists and is thriving all the time with skaters such as Luke Dench and Joe Sandland pushing it to the next level. The previous video ‘no skateboarding’ got a fairly good review in Sidewalk Magazine but Sheltered will blow that one away with better editing, an all British soundtrack and consistent skateboarding.

It’s us versus them…

Ah! The battle of the stances continues… The Etnies Goofy Vs. Regular contest has just finished and the rebel forces fought well securing a revengeful victory for the Goofy footers. Dave Swift led his right foot forward gang of plank pirates (Koston, Cannon, Appleyard and Rodriguez) to victory over Jake Phelps’ left foot forward losers (Senn, Salabanzi, Cole and Sheckler).

Chris Cole got dizzy enough to win the MVP for the regular footed folk, whilst Jereme Rogers switched things up to swipe MVP for the Goofy bunch. Whether or not such pointless competitions should be condoned or not isn’t really up to us to decide. Considering how normal it is for kids to skate switch today, the true value of stance is about as strong as exchanging rupees for roubles… But don’t forget that there was once a strong stance that ran the road: Mongo pushers have nearly all been eradicated today, but something dark is dawning on the horizon…
