Snickers Stage Back At Download!

The Download festival are releasing individual day tickets for the extravaganza at Donnington Park on June 9th, 10th and 11th, and in conjunction with this the festival has confirmed the return of the Snickers Bowl stage, which will join the Main Stage, Snickers Stage and the Gibson/Myspace.com Stage.

The cream of new rock talent has been lined up to play the Snickers Bowl Stage over the course of the 3 days and visitors to the bowl will be treated to sonic chaos from Gay For Johnny Depp, Sintuition, Get Cape Wear Cape Fly, Get Amped, Streetlight Youth, Viking Skull, Betty Curse and Evergrey. Sounds like a party that can’t be missed!

This will be the third year in a row that Snickers have brought the Bowl to the Download festival and it is sure to be more popular than ever. The bowl itself is the size of an Olympic swimming pool, and twice the depth. This year, a new event will take place, the Snickers UK Friday, where the best and emerging talents in the UK in skateboarding and BMX will be able to ride in an invitation only jam.

On Saturday and Sunday of the festival, you’ll be able to watch in awe at the likes of Rune Glifber, Koji Kraft and Renton Millar. There’s even a special guest judge, with the Godfather of skate and the star of the Dogtown And The Z-Boys documentary, Tony Alva making an appearance.

For more details, plus a chance to win Download 2007 tickets in the competitions section, check out check out www.downloadfestival.co.uk/snickers

Foundation Tour

The summer is soon upon us and that means touring, traveling and generally having a laugh with your mates on the road.

People who aren’t averse to a little game of smelly sardines in a tour van are the guys at Foundation Skateboards who plan to drop by Bay 66 Skatepark in London on the 17th May. Woo hoo!

The bretheren that have been given the Queens permission to shred her backyard are Angel Ramirez, Corey Duffel, Mike Ruszyck, Ethan Fowler and a handful of Euro special guests.

Be there or be square!

Eothen Skateboards Update

Staying true to his roots, Craig Robbins has nurtured his baby Eothen, and has built himself a small but efficient skate team. This independent skate company is now being repped all around the United Kingdom by Brighton ripper Jack Ryder (c.f. www.levelarmy.com), Tom Davey from Newton, Wales, and Benny Bucklee from Great Yarmouth.

The goods are top knotch (manufactured by the same people who make Ricky Oyola’s Traffic boards!) and the threads are of good quality too. Naturally Crossfire will be supplying a review of some Eothen goods soon, but you don’t have to wait for us to tell you to go try some out.

Malmö Bowlbash

The Bowlbash series is underway and Malmö, Sweden, is the next place to be if you want to witness some ridiculous transition skills.

From May 14th to 15th the brand new Stapelbaddsparken skatepark built and designed by Euro outfit Placed to Ride Inc. opens it’s doors to some of Europe’s gnarliest park riders to get hot, smelly and dangerous together. Of course there will be live rock music for fuel, and the organisers have put acclaimed Henry Fiat Open on the top of the bill.

This event is a prelude to the grand Bowlbash final which will be held at the new Area 51 skatepark in the Netherlands on the 13th and 14th October.

Koston’s Secret Is Out!

I don’t know if we can call this a scoop because it’s more like Skateboarding’s worst kept secret… But hey! For those of you who like to ride your boards instead of log onto them – Eric Koston now rides for Lakai Footwear!

Even if you couldn’t care less, I think you should because Lakai are busy at work on their first full length video, Fully Flared, and a project the can bring together Koston, Guy Mariano, JB Gillet and Anthony Poppalardo (to name but a few of their exclusive riders) is definitely going to have an effect on Skateboarding. Now you know.

Heroin Give Up Everything

Heroin will make your eyes bleed this summer when they drop a box set of all their DVDs, video footage and ads since their conception.

For those who need reminding, this means, Good Shit, Eveything’s going to be alright, the first Osaka Daggers video Infection and much much more.

In the mean time, Fos is busy getting a second shoe design onto the shelves, as well as a possible bit of footy with Tom Lock, Snowy and Joey Crack out in New York.

Oh, and Rory Milanes has taken his skate skills over to Landscape.
