New threads from Heathen

Heathen Skateboards are about to release some new threads this month, yes check out those shark jaws, as if you don’t want one!

In Heathen team news Paul Rimmer is kicking London right in the London eye with his Aussie homeboy Timmy Burdett. Timmy is a pure bred beast, I’m sure you’ll all be seeing a lot of him in the next few months.

Colin is busy skating street spots and killing them, even though he doesn’t skate street as you can see in the photo…and Big Mark Burrows has mashed up his knee (again), meaning his shredding activities are on the downlow for a wee while.

Loads more at www.heathenskateboards.com including more pics from the Oban Ramp Jam.

Helsinki Skateplaza Opens

One of Europe’s finest street skaters at the minute, Janne Saario, can handle a drawing board and measure just as well as he can hold onto long manuals. The young Finn recently designed a brand new skate plaza for the Northern capital, Helsinki, as part of his architectural work.

Well, now the park is open and everybody is super stoked. The park is sponsored by Element and free for all to enjoy. Let’s hope Janne can design a few more, or even inspire city councils to turn to skaters when it comes to designing and building the landscape.

Check out footage and pictures here.

Don’t forget the world premiere of Elementality Vol.2 which will broadcast live on September 1st by visiting this link: www.elementskateboards.com/audiovisual/

Euro SKATE Winner Announced

The first European leg of the annual Es Game of S.K.A.T.E. was wrapped up on July 30th at the Willy-Brandt Stadium in Frankfurt, Germany with skaters flipping and tripping over their boards from as far as Dubai, or as near as Austria. However, only one skater could win a chance to take part in the grand final held at the ASR Tradeshow, San Diego USA on September 9th.

All it took (!) was a few switch one foots, double 360 flips and double kickflips (Where was urban legend Julian Molyneux when you needed him???) for Alex Misurov from Germany to dust off the competition. Will this Euro wildcard beat the best in sunny San Diego? Crossfire will keep you posted as soon as the news drops.

For more info check out www.esfootwear.com and www.gameofskate.com

Fellow sole-tech rider (Etnies) and German skater, Juergen Horwarth came first in both the vert and mini ramp comps at the European Skateboard Championships held in Basel, Switzerland. It must be the German engineering or something..?
