Sheckler Shredding The Dew

Over on the other side of the pond better known as the Atlantic, a huge skateboard tour organised by Mountain Dew is doing the rounds and placing some of the sports biggest names head to head for some mad competition time.

Now, if you considered these events like a skateboarding Who wants to be a millionaire? Then the smart money is on the Kickflip Kid Ryan Sheckler. Ryan has yet to phone a friend to step in for him or offer a simple 50-50 instead of all the crazy kickflip boardslide business he’s been dishing out.

Ryan just won the third comp (he won the previous two too!), and is looking to win the fourth and final comp of the Dew Tour. The next generation is no joke!

Belgian Bowls

Belgium really isn’t all that far from the UK, and in the last 6 months the land of Mussels and Beer has been seriously spreading a lot of ‘Crete.

A new street plaza thing with a bit of quirky transition is currently getting trowelled up by visiting Team Payne heads and locals in Antwerp (Holla back to the good ol’ contest days, eh?). Whilst further north on the Coast, Osstend has just released plans for a sick bowl park with cradle and full pipe details to boot.

The park will be situated in the OG spot a.k.a. the Velodrome (C.f. Antiz Antizipated fun park skit).

Manchester News

Whilst the skaters in Crewe get first dibs at a new skate plaza, the Manchurian locals get no love from security and undercover cops at the premier street spot, Urbis (The one with the round three blocks and long ledges).

Will Joe Gavin have to take his brand new pro model on The Harmony elsewhere..? Hopefully not.

Es Game Of S.K.A.T.E Winner

In the annual ASR Tradeshow showdown, skaters from all over the world flew in to battle it out as Champion of S.K.A.T.E.

The final three skaters left to sweat, flip and spin on the smallest dancefloor in town were Chris Cole, Alexis Mizurov and Taylor Smith. Taylor lost out pretty quick as Chris and Alex literally went toe for toe on each trick.

With Chris on a S.K. and Alex sweating an S.K.A. it looked like there were hardly anymore tricks to attempt. Switch laser flips, double 360 flips… All done with ease. Finally in a David and Goliath twist of fate, the German kid flown in after winning his qualifying matches back home pulled a switch backside 180 late flip out of his new era cap and sent the pro home. Gnarly!
