Death Lost Soul II

Apparently, people were hassling Death Skateboards to re-release the Lost Soul deck. So they did. A few changes here, bit of a tweak there, but Lee Blackwell’s Lost Soul II deck just dropped for you to go crailslide pensioner’s faces with.

Vans UK Tours

The Vans UK team are hacking their way across Britain in the next few weeks starting tomorrow with a Summer BBQ and skate at the newly done-up Revolution Skatepark on Saturday. That’s tomorrow you losers, so if you’re nearby then get your arses down there. Fingers crossed for the weather lads, it looks really shitty outside right now.

Saturday August 4th will see the whole Vans team shred their way across to Bristol’s Dean Lane park for what is set to be a messy day. Expect some sick skating, hardcore boozing, and stickers being thrown in your face by drunk skateboarders.

Dibble in for the Olympics!

Now, the 2012 Olympics has caused much open debate on forums around the UK for the last 2 weeks.

It seems that many skaters welcome the addition because it could fuel money injections into the building of new fantastic skateparks but the remainder are opposed to the addition because it would allow street spots to be busts all over like in LA. Why? Because people would then expect skateboarding should be kept in skate parks. It’s a good point.

One local lad we know well from Harlow in Essex has put himself forward to be included this week which has been taken to the Harlow Herald. Little does the Herald know that Dibble here usually skates with his dong out!

Click here to be highly amused!

Fos Real Remix Project deck

The Real Remix Project, which collaborates with artists to produce very limited numbers of deck graphics, has hooked up with Fos to produce some boards.

The Remix series are only run once, all hand numbered and hand tagged, so these things become very collectable pieces of art if you don’t fancy scraping it to pieces on your local curb.

Ask in your local skate shop or check www.dlxsf.com for more details.

Gardner joins UK Vans team

A bit of a news update from the Vans camp this month. First up, congratulations to James Gardner who becomes the latest edition to the ever-increasing UK team.

The opening of the new and improved Bay66 on Saturday saw Kris Vile, Marc Churchil, Danny Wainwright, James Gardner, Chris Oliver, ‘Gorgeous’ Dave Watson, Pete King, Sam Bruce and new boy Ben Nordberg come and tear the place apart. Vile grabbed 2nd place in the sponsored competition after a sick day’s skate.

Over in Malmo, Sweden, Ross McGouran and Kevin McKeon competed in the Quiksilver Bowlriders comp. ‘Meanwhile’ Kev skated his arse off but missed getting into the finals, while Ross killed it with no-comply tailslides, kickflip melons and massively tweaked airs to earn himself 4th place and a £2000 paycheck.

Last weekend saw Marc Churchill celebrate his 29th birthday with a Vans team skate at Interact skatepark followed by copious amounts of boozing at their hotel. Congrats Marc, only a year until the big 3-Oh eh?

Meanwhile Kev and Darryl ‘Cov Sid’ Nobbs headed down to Bournemouth to do some demos at the Spring Break Fest this weekend. In between chatting up girls in bushes and Russian girls copping off with skinheads, Darryl grabbed 1st and Kev got 2nd in the bowl comp. Stoked!
