Haulin Ass

Haulin Ass 2 Hall and Oates is a full length skate video straight out of Seattle, from the creative minds of Ian Shulman and Tom Carter.

Featuring the likes of Two Hawks Young, Mike De Leon, Peter Starrs, Owen Jones and many more, the genius of this skate video is that it’s set entirely to a soundtrack of music by 70’s rock and soul band Hall and Oates.

Amazing video, amazing soundtrack, enjoy it.

Gonz street performance

I’m not entirely sure what this is about, but on the Coconut Records/Young Baby Records homepage is a video of The Gonz skating through a city in a boiler suit, in some sort of music video for a quite pleasant song.

News or not, nice music plus Gonz skating made Monday morning that bit brighter. And the sun just came out. Perfect.

Harrow update

Skaters at Harrow have given the local council drafts of what they would like to see as a replacement for the due to be demolished park.

Robert Adler, president of the group, gave the Harrow Times a sneak preview of what might be in the final designs. He said: “We’ve got a rough sketch. What we want is the basis of what Harrow Skate Park is but we want a new half pipe as well. We want a new section with off ramps and we want a swimming pool. We want it all to flow together rather than just having one section here and one section there. What’s great about Harrow is that more than one person can skate it at any one time. At the moment if I skate the vert ramp for an hour no one will bother me. You can have ten people on at once.”

The project has still to be confirmed, but councilors have said that any plans for a new park will be based on the skaters ideas and plans.

Danny Renaud survives serious fall

Our thoughts go out to Danny Renaud as this was posted on the Stereo blog:

“Danny Renaud, Agent 305, was injured in an accidental 9 story fall January 9th in Miami, Fl. Miraculously Danny survived, but the fall resulted in both legs being severely broken, and some internal injuries, but luckily Danny suffered no head trauma or spinal injuries. We are glad to hear he is expected to fully recover. If anyone can pull through something like this, it’s Danny. Our positive thoughts and prayers go out to Agent 305.”

Get well soon Danny.

Industrial Trucks cause controversy

These new trucks from Industrial are not so much controversial as just a bit naff really.

If you really want to look at fake tits, there are magazines you can buy instead. It much easier than the awkward situation when your Mum catches you wanking over your trucks.

Whitby skatepark gets contractor

Whitby’s long battle to get a skatepark built in the town could see it finished by Easter, as Freestyle has given approval by Scarborough Council to be the contractor for the project and has been working with councillors on the design of the park.

Councilor Joe Plant, who has been pushing the project since it started, said “The youngsters have been waiting for a long time for this skate park and now it is to become reality for them. It is about time we gave something for the youngsters to do, after all it is a healthy sport and it is better for them rather than becoming a couch potato.”

The five-year project will cost £150,000 with the design expected to be as close as possible to the input from the local skaters.
