Volcom Stone presents the first European Wild In The Parks Championships, on the 4th of October 2008 in Amsterdam.

Qualified skaters out of 17 countries will battle it out in the famous Skatepark of Amsterdam following the original WITP rules:

3 spots, jam session, everyone’s best trick on each spot counts, free entry, free food, free accommodation, sick prizes plus two Wild Cards to Amsterdamn Am (July 2009), and two free plane tickets to the WITP Championships in Phoenix, Arizona ($30 000 prize money).

This coming Sunday, October 5th will see the opening of the new Stroud Skate Plaza from 1pm-4pm. Maverick Industries have developed the park in Stratford that is ready to shred now. Get down there and support your local scene.

Zac’s old haunting ground in Surrey has been gifted a new capsule bowl this month courtesy of Jeremy Donaldson (Cantelowes) and his crew.

This bowl in Tolworth (Surbiton/Kingston area) has Federal Stone pool-coping and is said to be smooth as ice on the finish.

More news of the opening of yet another needed option in the South as soon as we get it.

Mike Vallely has always been a man on a mission and we have followed his developments via his site for the last year after meeting him in London with the Element team a while back. A new video trailer showcasing his latest Fuel TV series ‘Drive’ was posted last night on YouTube with footage of Mike ripping as ever. He was also interviewed in the NY Times talking about skate shoes, probably a good choice considering he has gone through thousands of them in his time.

Due to be finished at the end of October 2009, Decoy Skatepark will be located next to the Decoy BMX trails off Wagon road in Newton Abbot, Devon. The Bowl is 5ft and 7ft deep and has been designed and built by Gravity with input from locals. Expect fast flowing bespoke bowls with infinite lines for longevity and challenging sections. Prepare to head West.

Carl Shipman has joined the UK’s Dekline shoe team this week following his recent pro model revision on Stereo Skateboards.

Word has it is that Carl has been shooting photos with Sidewalk, has undergone a Slap Magazine interrogation for a future feature and is generally rocking.
