This years Vans Downtown Showdown in Los Angeles went down in style this weekend with Foundation Skateboards taking the headlines. Their team came in 1st ahead of Blind and Toy Machine in 2nd and 3rd places for overall skating at the comp.

Once again, various teams made obstacles to skate with Flip’s centre piece being an Extremely Sorry Ashtray, Black Label’s Drunk Tank monster set, rail and hubba, Girl’s wonderful take on the Little China Banks complete with benches, and Creature’s Hesh Cross which looked gnar.

Top Am went to Nick Merlino (Foundation) and Top Pro was awarded to Euro rider Jani Laitala who reps Blind. Watch an edit courtesy of the Skateboard Mag here.

Lee Dainton, Beefy and friends of Kill City take to the streets in this week’s Sunday Stooges where they also also find the oldest looking kid in Welsh history.

Bizarre choice to pick a Friday night in London to do a demo but this Friday night, the Globe team seem to think that it will be a good move. Rodney Mullen, Ryan Decenzo, Eero Antilla, Chris Haslam and Phillip Schuster will be at the Bay 66 park to sign stuff and skate the place.

Come down and welcome them to the UK this Friday 2nd October as this is an all star team right here not to miss!

Flip’s ‘Extremely Sorry’ premiere went down in style at London’s Hidden Club this Saturday. 700 people rammed the club as skaters balcony dived in the blue room in anticipation of the film that will once again rock world skateboarding.

Tributes, fantastic animations, technically gnarly skateboarding and a tonne of energy fueled fun drives the end result of this latest Flip Skateboards production. Rowley and co have stepped up the game in the 5 years between now and Really Sorry and they have marched forward to deliver another fantastic mix of all terrain shredding. No spoilers here but we can tell you that the most talked about section on the night came from Bob Burnquist, who has simply blown what we love best a new a-hole! In fact there’s too much to talk about in this flick including the totally awesome original soundtrack featuring Snoop Dogg, Lemmy, and many more but you will just have to wait for it to drop.

The film was shown twice to rabid crowds and guest rider Lance Mountain hung out with people in the venue and garden deep into 3am. Visit the Crossfire Facebook page to view some pics from the night and look out for a gallery and premiere feature to drop on this site soon.

OK so we have finally prepared this party and premiere of Extremely Sorry by Flip. The party will be held at Hidden in Vauxhall, London (full address on flyer) and doors will open at 8.30pm.

The film should go ahead for a 10.30pm screening if all goes to plan and the party will go on past 2am if numbers are sufficient. Dj’s will play across 2 rooms and beers/single spirits & mixer are £3.50 all night just for this night. Expect the Flip room to bring party slammers with special guest DJ Baron who scored the entire Extremely Sorry soundtrack for each rider. The Crossfire Room will feature rock and roll and hip hop from James Sherry & Zac Slack from the Crossfire Sound System and Talita Twoshoes from Total Rock will join us for the night in there too. Expect both rooms to kick out party jams!
