Back in the 80s the Nude Bowl was one of the most sessioned spots in California. Stuck out in the middle of the desert as part of an old deceased nudist colony, it was a top party spot that hosted the best pool skaters known to the scene. Recently though, this famous kidney pool was dug out from its grave, touched up and made ready to skate again.

A decade of Vans Combi Bowl events has flown by. Here’s a documentary on the highlights that have gone down ahead of the big 10 year celebration jam on May 16th and a look back to the OG Combi Pool that hosted many jams and broken bones.

Jim’s Skate Stash has unearthed some German Nieves footage from the East Coast back in 1997. In his own words: “One Summer day in ’97, German called me up saying he wanted to do a full part. At that point we only had half the required footage, so he busted out the entire other half that day. Amazing.”
