Rumours that Nicky Howells loves getting in the ring are reaching new heights this afternoon.
This flyer proves he is very much ready for the Hammerhouse event, incoming on Sunday August 16th at Monkey Cafe, 13 Castle Street, Swansea.
Doors are open from 2pm for this game of SKATE, so if you fancy giving him a run for his money then get in the ring. All the proceeds of the event go to charity mate…
Zoo York have a fresh run of decks incoming for the end of this month.
The Sky High Pro Series is a a collab with Alessandro Zuek Simonetti (try saying that drunk!) who is known for his stunning photography highlighting street culture.
Get high on these once they drop into your local SOS and check out their latest video as it rips.
Daryl Angel has moved over to Habitat Skateboards following his amazing section in the Am Chowder DVD from Skate Mental and the Nike ‘Debacle’ video this year. Watch some more of him here filmed by Joey Ruiz and Jason Hernandez.
If you are a mega ramp fan you will be into this DC interview with Plan B rider Danny Way who spills the beans on the madness behind skateboarding’s biggest session and the new shoe that gets Danny over the gap. Knowing that only a small amount of dudes actually skate the megaramp, we are sure that these may not catch on in your locals SOS but, these moonboots are gauranteed to go down well in the hip hop scene or Italian nightclubs!
If you are London based and nearby to Camden you will be stoked to know that the new Three Amigos Skateboard Shop will be officially open with a party this Thursday 6th August.
The venue is ZigFrids, 11 Hoxton Square in Old Street from 9am-1am and will have a showing of the latest Black Label DVD ‘God Save The Label‘.
Visit their blog for all info where you will find details of a session planned for this Saturday 8th August at Cantelowes skate park in Camden open to all. Expect a best trick comp down the flat bank, over the big hip in the street course, a bowl jam as well as a game of S.K.A.T.E.
Sheffield’s premier indoor skatepark The House have announced the date of their annual jam this week.
Just £5 entry on the door on Saturday September 15th will get you a full day of carnage, so make sure you put this one in your diary as this comp is always one of the highlights and run by skaters for skaters.
Visit www.thehouseskatepark.co.uk for all info.
Canadian Plan B rider Scott DeCenzo has been picked up by C1RCA Shoes this week. He joins David Reyes, Ryan Walker and Ryan Gallant as the team expands in the US.
Scott’s brother, also called Ryan is featured in this month’s Fresh Blood feature here at Crossfire; click here to check him out and below for C1RCA’s new signing.
The good folk over at Element thought it good to cut my summer short and send over some lines of their Fall 2009 range. At first I thought it’s strange to get a couple of hoody’s smack in the middle of one of the best summers we’ve had for years, but I was quickly reminded of how unpredictable the English weather can be and I never look a gift horse in the mouth!
These hoods are really cool to be honest, they are amazingly comfortable and really light, guess that’s why they came in a few months before fall and not closer to winter. Both the ‘Total Eclipse‘ and ‘Dark Earth II‘ comes in 100% cotton, but the thing I like most is the hood itself is double lined as you would expect, but with a layer of jersey, not heavy spun cotton like your normal winter wear.
I’ve been rocking these over the last few weeks, because we have had the pleasure of God’s monsoons recently and I felt a bit like Noah and his Arc, all prepared for this shit. These aren’t really thick enough for the Alps, but they are perfect for a late summer night BBQ. I really love the fit and feel, it reminds me of my favourite Slap hoody that some skate obsessed female stole from me many a year ago…Biatch!
There was another surprise in my box, a dead sexy pair of dark rinse indigo jeans called the ‘Aberdeen Blackout‘. Summer or winter, I rarely get the pins out, so jeans are always a winner for me. They represent everything I enjoy in a pair of denims, straight fit, 2% stretch for a good Beni-Hana, dark indigo in colour and they are super soft, unlike your £40 Uniqlo sta-press bollock tearing cardboard denims that is this decades must have.
Don’t get your wallet out for that crap, get hold of these instead, trust me, you’ll be happy you did. I’ve only had them for a little while, but I can tell they’re of superior quality and will last me much longer than I could imagine.
