Our thoughts go out to 2 good friends who are sidelined this week due to injuries.
Firstly, a shout out to Jess Young who has been in touch this week to say- “I’m in hospital man, completely snapped my foot in half trying the dirtiest hubba ever, morphines the one!” and then we have Steve ‘Wingy’ Wilkinson who reports today that he has a “Cracked elbow and 4 cracked ribs! Painful but just about mobile!”
Rest up lads, we are thinking of you.
Here’s a midweek Stooges special from Kill City’s Lee Dainton as Pritch and Dykie reach the Severn Bridge on their Elodie Appeal charity run with only 2 days left until they reach Landsend. There has been a road link across the River Severn since 1966 allowing for easy passage between Wales and England, tune in for more facts right here:
The Oakley Independent Vert Series Round 4 will be held this Saturday at Corby’s amazing Adrenaline Alley skatepark.
Get down there and watch the UKs finest display such as Sam Bosworth, Sam Beckett and Andy Scott and many more who will all be fighting it out to take home some dough and the crown of the UK’s best vert skater.
Don’t miss this leg as the ramp is the best in the country.
Mark Wetzel and Lem bring you the latest Traffic Report. We love these edits, this one features music from favorite local Philly band, Gondola, enjoy.
Band of Horses’ drummer Creighton Barrett hits the Crail Couch this week and discusses his fave stuff. The new album is really good (as expected) and the Lakai shoe collab with Guy Mariano looks sick. Seen them yet? There are only 100 pairs made so grab a pair quick if you are a fan.
NYC will play host to this year’s Maloof Money Cup this weekend throughout June 5th & 6th. Here’s a teaser from Vans with Geoff Rowley, Koston and many more discussing what’s to come. Look out for the live webcast on www.fuel.tv
This week’s Sunday Stooges are hungover as they battle with a session at the Cwmbran Wastelands. Get tired with Lee Dainton and the Kill City crew here…
Changing seasons equals news gear and our recommendation for new shoes this week comes from etnies, whose Jose Rojo Enjoi collab shoe seems to be going down a storm out there right now.
This is not the first collab The Barge shoe has seen, the Thunder collaboration from last year was a success in terms of comfort, style and general wear and tear- the latter benefiting from the sturdy one-piece toe wrap that protects your pinkys whilst your feet do the shredding.
If you like a padded tongue protecting your feet when you skate and opt for a wider shoe for street skating then you will probably enjoy these as they provide more protection than your average slim skate shoe with a vulcanized sole but are not on the heavy side either. Of course these come with the usual STI footbed for increased comfort and cushioning so they are a dream once on your feet and they look pretty dope all round.
Enjoi these at your local SOS this month as they have just been released.
