1939 – Witch, Earthless and Graveyard decks

Illustrator and Witchcraft honcho French has teamed up Dave Sweetapple from Tee Pee Records for a run of bespoke limited edition boards under the 1939 moniker.

“We work with the bands to make sure the artwork, shape etc is all really authentic to what the bands are about and engages with their personal links to skateboarding. For example the Earthless board is Mario’s own personal shape that he has on Assault Skateboards and the artwork was made by Alan Forbes for a tour poster and we adapted it to make sure it really worked with the shape of the board. The band had total input right down to choosing the veneer colours of the boards.”

These look rad, pre-orders are running from today here. Get yours before they are gone, these are limited to 200 only.

Bam Margera arrested in Glasgow

Jackass skater Bam Margera woke up this morning in a Glasgow police station after being arrested last night at the Jury’s Inn hotel in Jamaica Street. Bam was with Eminem’s entourage and performed as a guest on Yelawolf’s set who was supporting Eminem’s headline show. He was charged for being a loud knob after trying to check in and finding his room was not booked, so he apparently threw a kiddie tantrum and then sinked some whisky before he got the bumhole and the fuzz were called.

“I had the pleasure of visiting Glasgow jail for 48 hours after performing with Yelawolf at an Eminem show. After that, I try to check into my hotel room. but they think i’m a street bum checking into a 4 Star Hotel and called the police. I got arrested for being loud in public. Halleluah!”

He was fined £500 at Glasgow Sheriff Court this morning. Good one.

Ali Boulala 50 stairs in a day from Flip ‘Sorry’ video

ali_boulala_50_stair_ollie_flip_sorry_skateboard

If you are old enough to remember this video hitting screens back in 2002 there’s a good chance you would have not forgotten this beastly ollie attempt by Ali Boulala filmed by French Fred for Flip’s epic ‘Sorry’ video.

This new footage features never-before-seen clips of Ali attempting the leap of faith, tackling 50 stairs in one day, and said last week on his FB page that: “This is by far the gnarliest thing I have ever filmed. He did on 2 separate occasions, including on a drizzling day, which makes it even crazier. Maybe it’s possible, maybe Ali could have done it with the right conditions.”

Who do you think would be able to make this 25 stair ollie today? Watch this archived gem and then discuss.
