Name This Videoooooo…

You might have heard about this video project in the past. Basically some fun loving Americans have decided to make a video, cast the stars, get the hammers, edit some hot tracks to their footage… The whole shebang except one major detail: the title! So, being the nice chaps they are, they have decided to run a contest where the best idea for a name wins a brand new Deathlens. Not bad for 30 seconds of brain storming, eh?

So, now that the contest is nearing a result, a worldwide premiere is necessary. So far the date set is 06/06/06 – the day for devilish behaviour! Premieres will happen in Campbell, California, and Clearwater, Florida, but Paul Cote (the main man behind the project) is keen to get a premiere in the UK too.

Check out the site and trailers, and see if you know what to call it.

The Dirty Sanchez Movie Is Go!

Currently running at over 3 hours of hell raising lunacy, the Dirty Sanchez Movie is in progress. I wouldn’t hold your breathe waiting for it, but then again if you film that you might get in the credits – Ha!

Apparently Motorhead lead, Lemmie was advised by his lawyer to leave the project, so you know it’s heavy.

Little Pancho is awaiting the birth of his second child, whilst Pritchard and Joyce race in the Gumball rally with Joyce’s supped up 500 horse power jock rocket!

Dainton dropped us a mail informing us of the Killcity Bowl Jam at Chepstow on the 27th May. Drinks will follow at the pub where Porno Paul will premiere his new skate video.

You might want to keep an eye open for a Daryl Cashman pro board in the near future, and a £250k street plaza park in Bridgend, but that news is yet to be conformed…

Cliché On A Vendetta

Ok, footage is gold and Cliché rock 24 carat material when they’re on show, so feast your eyes on this (www.clicheskate.com ) , another wicked trip with the Cliché crew in Sicily.

Between trips abroad, a couple of football matches and having a baby- Congratulations!- Jeremie Daclin is a very busy man, but knows that to build a successful team you need to keep an ear to the street.

The French flow team has just been announced, so take note of these names because Lucas Puig used to be one of them:
Seb Housset, Thibaud Hetroit, Matthieu Christin, Mathias Swick, Joe Dezecot and Ludo Masselot.

With one foot on board and the other in an office, rumours of Jeremie and fellow Cliché rider, JB Gillet opening a skateshop in Lyon are slowly solidifying. The new shop will be called ‘Ballz Out‘ and situated at 28 Rue Bugeaud 69006 Lyon….

Fausto Vitello Rest In Peace

Fausto Vitello passed away on April 22nd 2006 of a heart attack, but he will always be remembered within the skateboard community as ‘The Don’ and part founder of the legendary Independent Truck Company and Thrasher magazine.

Fausto was an Argentinean immigrant who moved to the Bay Area, San Fransisco, at a young age with the drive to make it no matter what. Teamed up with Rich Novak, Jim Shuirman and Eric Swenson, Fausto used his skills to mould one of the world’s greatest skate trucks ever- the Independent.

But he didn’t stop there; Fausto was also busy setting up Thrasher magazine – a core life line for the scene he loved, promoting skateboarding through the first street contests and backyard jams, and always scouting out new talent. Since then, the man with the moustache has received respect the world over and rightly so!

Crossfire and our passion to start it and keep it going is fuelled very much by Fausto’s outlook and drive for keeping things real. Thrasher Magazine and Independent Trucks are 2 huge influences on our involvement in skateboarding for many years now and this is a huge loss to skateboarding world wide, but what he has left behind is a scene that stretches from country to country that is built on the sheer fun of it.

It’s hard to believe such a strong character of skateboarding has passed… I’ll let Fausto explain himself in his own words, courtesy of ‘Built to Grind‘ (High Speed Productions):

“Throughout the history of Independent, I have always tried to maintain the “fuck off” attitude of the company founders. I’ve never had my partners tell me who to have on the team or how to do the ads; it’s always been easy, and it’s always been about skateboarding.”

Birdhouse getting busy

Those nice chaps at Birdhouse gave us a bell and told us all about the new video they are working on. Apparently Willy Santos is going to shake things up a bit with a hot new part- for appetizers check the latest issue of Transworld Skateboarding.

Meanwhile, Tony Hawk hasn’t got to prove himself anymore, but obviously he does because he has teamed up with Shaun White a.k.a. The flying Tomato (The Americans have really got to quit those stupid nicknames!) for some heavy vert sessions.

Finally, the rest of the team are busy getting to know oneanother’s bodily odours as they trek across the States, passing through Pheonix Am so Brandon Westgate could place 7th. Expect words with the East Coast grappler soon!

Oh, and Steve Nesser is doing his own thing with a trip to Tel Aviv and the opening of his skateshop, Familia in his hometown of St.Paul, Minnesota.
