The White Stripes aren’t splitting!

Jack White has denied reports that Icky Thump will be The White Stripes last album.

In a recent interview, White said that 90% of interviews he did saw him asked if it was going to be the band’s last album. He also went onto to say that now people are claiming The Raconteurs must be finished because of the new Stripes album:

“Then The Raconteurs came along and people thought, obviously, we’re done. But then with this new album people are saying The Raconteurs are done. That was a side project! So, next year, when the next Raconteurs album comes out…”

Bad Religion to release digital single

Bad Religion have announced details of their first single from their upcoming album.

Honest Goodbye will be released as a digital single on May 22nd with their album being released in July of this year. The single is inspired by Perry Smith, the murderer that was made famous by In Cold Blood by Truman Capote. Brett Gurewitz said:

“The song questions how a man with seemingly gentle and artistic sensibilities comes to commit brutally heinous crime. It’s an emotional song to me that delves into the humanity of forgiveness and retribution.”

Iggy Pop talks privates.

Iggy Pop has recently spoken about the track Trollin’ on his album which features the line “my dick is turning into a tree”.

He said to Rolling Stone magazine:

“You write about things of importance to you. And it’s gotta be for real. Do I think about my dick? All the time. I got a right to sing about it. If I thought, ‘It’s time to write a rock song, I’d better mention my dick,’ then I wouldn’t even be able to say ‘dick’ right. But it’s nature-oriented”.

Got it? Good.
