Rock N Roll theme park planned

Plans for an $800 million rock and roll theme park in Arizona have been announced.

The park is to be called Decades, and will be divided into separate regions that represent decades from the 1960s to the present. The 1960s section, for example, will emphasise the British Invasion and Motown, while the 1980s would focus on the rise of the music video.

Park attractions may include The Beach Boys wave pool, the Grand Funk Railroad and the Hotel California. Developers hope to complete the park by 2012 and expect approximately six million visitors a year, according to the Arizona Star.

Sufjan launches Xmas song exchange

Sufjan Stevens has launched a Christmas song exchange.

According to reports, the singer-songwriter’s Great Sufjan Xmas Xchange will see fans writing an original Christmas song, recording it and emailing the song to the label.

Asthmatic Kitty will then pick a winner and “that person will trade rights to their song for rights to Sufjan song…Sufjan Sufjan’s song becomes your song. You can hoard it for yourself, sell it to a major soft drink corporation, use it in your daughter’s first Christmas video, or share it for free on your website. No one except Sufjan and you will hear his song, unless you decide otherwise. You get the song and all legal rights to it. We get the same rights to your song.”

Legal details can be seen here.

Hell Is For Heroes are ill

Illness has blighted what is rumoured to be the last ever Hell Is For Heroes tour.

Citing “recurring illness” the London post hardcore quintet have cancelled the last 3 dates of their tour. Last night’s Cardiff dates, tonight’s show at Islington Academy and the November 14th show in Tilburg are casualties in what the band have described as their last tour until their “reunion tour of 2037”. The band explained in an email to fans that they’d be working on other projects and potentially a fourth Hell Is For Heroes album.

If you had tickets for any of the cancelled dates you can request a refund from the ticket agent, or hold tight and wait for the shows to be rescheduled in the new year.

Get better soon guys!
