Hip hop kings Atmosphere have revealed details of their new album.
When Life Gives You Lemons, You Paint That Shit Gold will hit the shops in April and will feature 15 tracks. The album comes out with a DVD of footage from their Minneapolis show of their recent Everyone Loves A Clown tour, as well as a gold-embossed 40 page book containing lyrics and an illustrated children’s story by Slug. Sebastien Tellier will play a free show in February.
Tellier will be playing a free live show at Rough Trade East in London on February 20th, the day before his sold out show at the ICA. Captains Of Industry have announced the launch of their book off-shoot.
The label, which launched in 2003, will be publishing limited-run poetry books and pamphlets “as and when we see fit”. The first publication will be Brutalism 1: Nowhere Fast by Tony O’Neill, Adelle Stripe and Ben Myers and will feature a collection of poems which cover the towns of their adolescence.
This collection is highly limited to 300 copies and will not be reprinted in this format. It costs £5 plus postage and you can check it out here
Rancid have begun recording their new album.
The band went into the studio with Brett Gurewitz and it has brought them together after they had been concentrating on other projects, such as Tim Armstrong’s solo release A Poet’s Life. The album hasn’t yet been given a title but is expected to hit the shelves at some point later this year.
