Brother Ali reveals new artwork

Brother Ali has revealed the artwork for his new album.

Us will be released at the end of September with production from Ant of Atmosphere fame with guest spots from Freeway, Stokley Williams, Joell Ortiz and the legendary Chuck D.

The album promises to be another big hit in 2009 for Rhymesayers Entertainment, following the release of Never Better by P.O.S.

Ian Brown streams new track

Ian Brown has put a stream of new track online.

Just Like You is taken from his new album My Way and is released on September 21st. Brown left a message on his official site saying “Everybody, please be aware my best album is to be released on September 28. Titled My Way, it contains something for everyone.”

Jay Electronica, who may well be the next name to blow up the underground, has posted a new video.

The track, produced by Just Blaze, features a beautiful video of Nepal and the audio snippet at the end comes from the track is titled Dear Moleskin.

DJ Whoo Kid took offence to use of the word “kid” in Jigga’s D.O.A. track and decided to compare Jay to a camel. Kinda ridiculous, but pretty funny, as camels always are:

Spotify to hit Apple store?

Spotify has submitted an application to Apple’s iTunes App Store to launch its first mobile service.

If Apple approve the app, it will allow users to store playlists away frmo their computer, to play music even when there is no internet connection. It is likely to be free to download, though users will need to have a premium Spotify playlist to sign in, costing £9.99 am month.

Free Alberta Cross download

New Yorker’s Alberta Cross have today unveiled a brand new track from their long awaited debut LP. Entitled ‘Leave us and Forgive Us‘, the track is available to download for FREE from the band’s web site, www.albertacross.net.

Following ‘ATX‘ being posted on their myspace earlier this month, this is the second glimpse of Alberta Cross’ fantastic new album ‘Broken Side of Time‘, which is to be released on September 21st through Ark Recordings.

Yes! Slayer are back with a new album called World Painted Blood produced by Greg Fidelman (Metallica, Slipknot). Reading Festival goes loud!

Reading Festival will be bigger and louder than last year.

Reading Borough Council approved the expansion of the festival, with 3,500 extra tickets available to those who live in Reading. The festival will grow by 3,500 again next year and 3,000 more in 2011.

The sound will also incerase from 65db to 68db during the day, with the last two acts of the evening allowed to his 70db.

Pop-punk aficionados Broadway Calls will be returning to UK shores and releasing their SideOneDummy album ‘Good Views, Bad News‘ in August.

The album is out 17th August with single ‘Be All That You Can’t Be‘ preceding on 10th. Live dates, including a support slot with The Offspring and Reading and Leeds festival performances, are as follows –
