Japandroids to re-issue early EPs

Japandroids are set to release a compilation of their early EPs, entitled No Singles.

The record will be released on May 11th, combining 2007’s ‘All Lies’ with 2008’s ‘Lullaby Death Jams’. The release follows the success of last year’s breakthrough album, Post Nothing, and will be the first time their early material has been made widely available.

The tracklisting for No Singles reads;

The Audition head back to the UK

One of our favourite discoveries of 2009 are finally hitting the UK this year! fun. are bringing their quirky sound to these shores at the end of the month to coincide with their debut UK single being released. The double A-side debut single ‘Walking The Dog’ / ‘Be Calm’ as a limited edition 7” vinyl, on March 29th through Friends Vs Records.

The band’s album ‘Aim & Ignite’ will then get a full UK release on Hassle Records with exclusive bonus content on May 31st.

DMX arrested on drugs charges

DMX has been arrested in Arizona for regular use of illegal drugs throughout the last nine months.

The rapper is facing five counts of violating probation, after admitting to charges including the use of cocaine.

Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio said, “We would hope that he is finally sent to prison. We’ve arrested him five times already. How many times do you have to violate the law?”

New Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster album

Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster will release a new album this May, their first since 2005’s Royal Society.

The Brighton based band will release their third album, entitled Blood and Fire, on May 17th. This will be preceded by the single, Love Turns to Hate, on May 10th.

Meanwhile the band will play a headline show at the Relentless Garage on June 3rd, following appearances at Camden Crawl and The Great Escape festivals.

Gorillaz announce warm-up shows

Gorillaz will road test their new material with a series of UK shows later this month.

The animated band, created by Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett, will play six UK dates with a live band rumoured to include The Clash’s Mick Jones and Paul Simonon.

The Dangerous Summer UK dates

The Dangerous Summer have announced a string of tour dates throughout April and May.

The band will be touring in support of their debut record, Reach For The Sun, which will be released in the UK on april 12th.

Latitude headliners announced

Florence and the Machine, Belle and Sebastien and Vampire Weekend will play headline slots at this year’s Latitude festival, it has been announced.

The band’s will play on July 16th, 17th and 18th respectively, and will be joined by the likes of The National, The xx, The Horrors and Grizzly Bear.
