Public Enemy Comic Book!

If hip hop had a super hero, you wouldn’t be surprised if Chuck D was the one wearing the cape. And a comic company named American Mule has picked up the rights to publish a comic based on Chuck’s legendary Public Enemy.

The comic is due to be an ongoing series, published every 2 months, featuring Chuck, Flav, Professor Griff and DJ Lord, with some special guest stars promised. The series will be written and illustrated by Adam Wallenta and Chuck D himself and a special preview edition [issue 0] is available through Diamond Comic Distribution or American Mule.

The White Stripes Go To Court

The White Stripes are going to court to face the man who produced their first two albums. Jim Diamond, based in Detroit, is claiming he is partly responsible for creating the band’s sound and though they had no contract, he said the band understood how important his role was.

The band’s lawyer has said they will fight the “meritless case” and deny Diamond had anything to do with their sound, saying that the $35 an hour he was paid in the studio is all he’s owed. The trial begins on June 12th.

Death To Goths?

A team of researchers from Glasgow University have found that Goths are more likely to self harm or commit suicide than other youth groups. They described Goth as a dark and sinister subgenre of Punk and studied over 1,200 people and though other groups were seen to self harm, it was the Goths that were found to be most likely to do it.

Head of the research team Robert Young said that it didn’t show being Goth causes this instability, in fact he found it to be the reverse, that being unstable causes one to become a Goth, due to the finding that more self harm happened before, not after, becoming a Goth.
