Finger Lickin’s turntable whizz-kid A-Skillz is bringing the fun with a party to celebrate the launch of his latest mix, Export 02, a The Old Queens Head in Islington on August 4th.

The mix is released on July 31st and features the likes of Jungle Brothers, Kraak & Smaak and Fort Knox 5, bringing funk, old skool breaks, club smashers and heavy scratching. Check out Abjekt’s review in The Mix.

Mogwai have been busy lately. The group, who have 2 tracks on the Miami Vice soundtrack, have provided the soundtrack to “Zidane: A 21st Century Portrait“, the timely film about one of the greatest footballers [and headbutters] that has ever lived. Mogwai will release the soundtrack to this film as a download and vinyl release in September with the CD format coming out in October.

UK hip hop producer extraordinare Evil Ed is to front his own radio show on hhbradio.com starting tonight [Thursday 27th] at 6pm until 8pm. In a bulletin on myspace, he said:

“The show is 2 hours of upfront Hip Hop US, UK and beyond with a few classics and original breaks thrown in for good measure…It’s kind of a mature Hip Hop show, no commercial bullshit or weak shit, just pure Hip Hop vibes all the way. You gotta bear with me for the first show coz I ain’t got all my drops sorted yet, but it’s gonna be BIG tunes all the way trust!”
