King Creosote Release EP

Kenny Anderson aka King Creosote, is releasing an EP entitled You Are Could I on September 18th, which will follow his album KC Rules OK. You can download You Are Could I for free from their website here. In support of this upcoming EP, King Creosote is to play some headline shows in autumn. The dates are:

Akira The Don Is Back

Akira The Don is back with a new double A Side Oh! What A Glorious Thing / BOOM! (Smash Stuff) which serves as a preview of his new album When We Were Young which is due out this November.

Akira The Don teamed up with James Brown [who has worked with NIN, Bjork and Placebo] and even a group of six year old American kids on the record and appeared in the film My Super Ex-Girlfriend.

BOOM (Smash Stuff) features Marvin The Martian, Jack Nimble and Dego Brown of Brixton’s Why Lout? Crew and samples Elastica’s Connection.

White Rose Movement Tour Postponed

The White Rose Movement’s September tour has been put on hold due to singer Finn Vine’s loss of voice. After a gig in Italy, he lost his voice entirely and the band have reluctantly decided to reschedule the shows.

However in the meantime, the group will release the single Love Is A Number on October 23rd which will feature a Ben Allen [who mixed the Gnarls Barkley album] remix.

Fans who bought tickets to the September shows will be able to exchange them for the rescheduled dates.

Ween Live In Toronto

Ween‘s tour with Bobby Ogdin and the Shit Creek Boys in 1996 has been captured, with the October 26th show in Toronto being made into a record.

The record will come out on a double white 180 gram vinyl LP and the first pressing will also feature a Boognish “Cowboy” glow in the dark sticker. The album won’t be out on CD or as a download, so make sure you pick up a copy soon!

Beruit Sign To 4AD

Beruit have signed to label 4AD to release their album The Gulag Orkestar.

The album, performed by Zach Condon, is inspired by European folk music and has been said to be the “best indie rock record of the 19th Century”. The album will be released in October, when the group will be in the UK supporting Calexico.
