I Was A Club Scout extras wanted

I Was A Cub Scout are looking for extras for their upcoming video.

The duo will be filming their new video on Monday February 19th for the track I Hate Nightclubs and want people to come along to appear as an extra.

If you are 16 and over, can be free for the filming in Old Street, London, and can get there by 12.30pm [shoot finishes around 6.30pm], then email Joe Dixon and sending a MySpace link or photo of yourself. The first 50 people to do this will be selected.

The Holloways’ new release

The Holloways will be releasing a new single in March after heading out on tour.

The band, who had a hit last year with Generator, will release Dancefloor on the 12th of March and are currently playing their biggest tour yet.

They will also play an under 18s show in Sheffield following their impromptu gig on top of their bus for kids that couldn’t get into the venue. The tour dates are:

New Elliott Smith material coming

A new Elliott Smith album is to be released on May 7th.

The album will be a double CD and will feature 24 songs recorded between 1995 and 1997, a period which saw him record his self titled album and Either/Or.

The album, New Moon, was mixed by Larry Crane who is the archivist for the estate of Elliott Smith and a large percentage of the profits will be going to Outside In, a social service organisation providing help to homeless youth and low-income adults. The tracklisting is:

Necrosadistic Goat Torture info!

Crossfire favourites Necrosadistic Goat Torture will be playing a couple of shows in London this month.

The group will support Skyforger at the Purple Turtle on February 17th and Thus Defiled at the Underworld on the 24th of February before heading off to Helsinki to play at Bar Kantis in March.

Make sure you’re also on the look out for the new 5 track record called The Maniac’s Banquet which is pure thrashing metal mayhem.

Strung Out video diary update

Strung Out have posted their new video diary online.

The band are posting regular updates as they work on their new record, Blackhawks Over Los Angeles, their first full length since 2004’s Exile In Oblivion.

The video shows plenty of shredding and each member of the band talks a little about the recording of the album and their plans for the future. The album is due out in June.

Gossip re-release and video

Gossip will be re-releasing the title track from their album, Standing In The Way Of Control.

The band will bring the single out again on February 26th due to popular demand and the song has gone into the midweek top 40 thanks to download sales, despite it being released in November last year.

The song is being used [in the form of a Soulwax mix] for the trailer for E4’s show Skins, which is already massively popular. To partner the single, the band have put out a video, which you can see here.

Napalm Death album and DVD news

Napalm Death are celebrating the 20th Anniversary of their debut album Scum with a special release.

Earache Records is putting out a special edition 20th Anniversary version of the album, containing both the album itself and a DVD looking at the band’s early days and the impact of the album on the wider music scene.

The DVD will also see an interview with Mark Titchner, a Turner Prize nominee, who looks at the aesthetic styles of Napalm Death’s music. You can check out a trailer on the Earache myspace page and the record will be released on March 19th.
