NIN make a mint

Nine Inch Nails have revealed the takings from their donation-suggested release.

The band put out the 36-track record as a DRM-free release and have netted an amazing $1,619.420 as a result of donations. Whilst NIN were completely open about the takings from this experiment, Radiohead have not revealed an amounts from their In Rainbows album.

Radiohead to release new single

Radiohead will release Nude on XL Recordings on March 31st.

The single, taken from their In Rainbows album, will be released on CD, download and 7″ with the latter featuring 4 Minute Warning as the b-side. The CD single will feature Down Is The New Up which was previously only available on the In Rainbows box set. The band are also going to give fans the chance to remix the single, the details of which will be revealed soon.

April 1st will see the group play a free concert for BBC Radio 2 at the BBC Radio Theatre. Fans can apply for tickets until Thursday March 13th by calling 08700 100 200.

Finally, the band’s UK and Ireland dates are in June:

6th & 7th – Malahide, Dublin
24th & 25th – Victoria Park, London
27th – Glasgow Green, Glasgow
29th – LCCC, Manchester

Gnarls re-shoot new album

Gnarls Barkley have brought forward the release of their second album The Odd Couple.

Cee-Lo Green of the band said recently in an interview that the album is “really fucking good” and the sound on the record is “bigger, badder, bolder and more arena-friendly”.

The band have also re-shot the video for new single Run so that it can now be screened on MTV UK who had banned it due to excessive strobe lighting.
