Lil Wayne is back writing already.

The rapper, who saw his latest album Tha Carter III rack up a million sales in its first week, wrote on his blog that he has already begun work on the follow up, saying:

“I’ve been busy in the studio and right now I’m working on a mix tape, along with ‘Tha Carter IV’. The mix tape you can expect real soon. It’s called ‘Dedication 3‘, and it’s going to be ‘Gangsta Grillz‘ by DJ Drama. And then right after that, I’m putting that same mix tape out with 20 extra songs for free on my website.”

Fucked Up will play a 12-hour set this month.

The Canadians will begin their show at 2pm in New York on October 14th and will play through until 2am. The performance will be in celebration of their new album The Chemistry Of Common Life. A limited edition 7″ of Royal Swan will be given away free to attendees too.

The band had had to reschedule after Tad Kubler fell ill with pancreatitis. The new dates are:

Metallica have been nominated for induction into to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2009, along with Run DMC, and The Stooges.

Also nominated for induction into the Hall are Jeff Beck, War, Wanda Jackson, Little Anthony And The Imperials, Bobby Womack and Chic, who were also nominated last year. These nominees join the elite ranks of other Hall of Fame members including Led Zeppelin, James Brown, Elvis Presley, and Blondie. The artists will be honored at the Hall’s 24th Annual Induction Ceremony, set to be held April 4 at the Public Hall in Cleveland.

Tickets to the ceremony will be made available to the public for the first time. The honorees are nominated by approximately 500 musicians, industry professionals and journalists. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is located in Cleveland, Ohio and began annually inducting artists and members of the music community in 1986.

Fightstar will release new single The English Way on November 3rd.

The band will be supporting the new release by playing some headline shows as well as some support slots for Feeder. The dates are:
