Dinosaur Jr back with new album

Most skaters will be stoked to learn that Dinosaur Jr are back with a brand new album for 2009.

The album titled “Farm“, the fifth full length record by the original line-up of J. Mascis, Lou Barlow, and Murph—which is set to be released on PIAS on June 22nd 2009.

“Farm” was recorded in J Mascis’ Bisquiteen studio in Amherst, Massachusetts, and was produced by Mascis himself. We will let you know what this album is like once we have a copy here, let’s hope the music is as exciting as this incredible artwork! Spread the word.

Spinal Tap World Tour!

25 years have gone by but Spinal Tap are making a comeback and have announced a World Tour. Well, it’s one gig….

Explaining the decision to play just one show, lead guitarist Nigel Tufnel said: “If we’re going to do a world tour on only one night, at least it’s this world“. Bassist Derek Smalls added: “One night is not enough, and it’s way too much“.

Make sure you get your tickets for Wembley Arena in London on 30th June. Tickets go on sale on Thursday at 9am.

Gossip are back with Music For Men

Beth Ditto and her crew are back with a new record scheduled for Monday June 22nd. The new Gossip album is titled Music For Men and produced by goldenballs producer Rick Rubin so expect perfection on the production.

The album’s first single, Heavy Cross, will be released on June 15th on Columbia Records.

Alec Empire to drop Shivers

German noisemeister Alec Empire was last seen in London on stage dialling 999 telling Police that he was ‘blowing people’s ears off and it was an emergency’. He is now back with a new mini album set for release on 25th May. Look out for him live in the UK at the following dates:

TGOAT premiere new track!

The Ghost Of A Thousand will see their new track Bright Lights premiered exclusively on Daniel P. Carter’s Radio 1 Rock Show tonight.

The show, which airs between midnight and 2am on 7th April can also be heard on the BBC iPlayer for seven days after the show has aired. The track is lifted from the band’s upcoming New Hopes, New Demonstrations album which will be released on Epitaph on June 1st and will be available for free download from the band’s site for 48 hours.

Social Distortion European Tour

Rock’n’Roll legends Social Distortion have announced the dates of their European tour, set to take place in summer 2009. The tour, which starts in Madrid on June 4th and ends in London on July 8th, will include club shows as well as appearances at the major festivals.

The band and I love playing Europe“, says Mike Ness, “We’ve only been over a couple times, but we have always had a loyal fan base throughout Europe that just keeps growing. We are really looking forward to coming back and this time we are coming back feeling better about being Americans – if you know what I mean!

Social Distortion is currently writing with plans to record a new album, due for release sometime in 2010. The bands first-ever career spanning collection Greatest Hits is out now through Time Bomb Recordings/Epitaph Records.
