The Dandy Warhols are making a stand this month, playing an support of cannabis being legalized in the US.
The Portland indie veterans will be playing at the Playboy Mansion in LA on June 4th along with David J of Bauhaus and various other performers as part of a fundraiser in aid of the Marijuana Policy Project.
Dandy Warhols frontman Courtney Taylor-Taylor said “We have a lot of stoners in our ban so to have marijuana still be illegal is ridiculous. As a recreational chemical it’s a lot less dangerous than alcohol. There are a lot of countries where it’s perfectly legal and they get along better than America.

Arctic Monkeys have announced they will release their third album on August 24th.
The album, produced by James Ford and QOTSA’s Josh Homme in America, is yet to be titled, but will have 10 new songs, the tracklisting of which is below. The band will also head out on the festival circuit over the coming months including performances at Leeds [August 28th] and Reading [August 29th].

Returning indie giants Editors have named their third album ‘In This Light And On This Evening‘.
The band took a short hiatus last summer after front man Tom Smith’s wife Edith Bowman gave birth to a baby boy. Using his time off to rest with his family, Smith entered a fresh creative phase. Claiming to have written anything up to eighteen songs for the new album, the band are said to be working on a raw and energetic new direction.
Produced by Mark ‘Flood’ Ellis, album sessions are said to have been hugely productive with the resulting album due for release later this year.

The UK finals for the World DMCs will take place on July 9th.
The UK leg of the 25th year of the DMCs will be held at the O2 Academy Islington from 7pm and will feature PAs from Jehst, DJ Switch v DJ Shiftee, Inja and Billy Biznizz. Whoever wins the DJ final and the Battle For Supremacy will advance to the World Championships on September 11th and 12th and the Indig02.
