Mogwai have announced they will tour extensively once they have released their new album.

The band are demoing new songs at the moment and will be looking to record and release the new album in 2010 with Stuart Braithwaite saying:

“When we do a new record we’ll probably come and play everywhere for a change. I think that our attitudes to activities around the record coming out might change a bit because we’ll be really thinking, ‘We need to push this’.”

Thom Yorke has formed a new band.

The Radiohead frontman has brought in Flea from the Chili Peppes, Joey Waronker, Mauro Refosco and Nigel Godrich to work on the as-yet un-named project. The band have announced they’ll play two shows in LA in October with Yorke saying:

“We don’t really have a name and the set will not be very long cuz… well… we haven’t got that much material yet! But come and check it out if you are in the area.”

Slayer have posted a new track online.

The band have put the title track to their upcoming album World Painted Blood on their MySpace page. The album is out on November 2nd. Turn the speakers up and listen to the carnage here.

Massive Attack have announced a new London gig.

The group, who release their Splitting The Atom EP on October 5th will donate a percentage of the ticket fees for the show at Hammersmith Apollo on February 11th 2010, to the HOPING Foundation. Special guests are set to be announced soon and tickets go on sale on September 25th at 9am.
